Nuggets’ Faried suffers neck injury

VIDEO: Nuggets’ Faried injured in Warriors game

NBA.com staff report

Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried suffered an apparent neck injury in the closing minutes of Denver’s 111-108 overtime loss at Golden State and, wearing a neck brace, was taken off the court on a stretcher after the game ended.

The injury apparently occurred when Faried collided with teammate Will Barton while getting in position for a defensive rebound with under 20 seconds left in overtime. He immediately grabbed his neck and walked to the baseline, where trainers helped lower him to the floor.

Accompanied by Nuggets GM Tim Connelly, Faried was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons, where he was scheduled to receive X-rays.
