DALLAS — After sitting out the last two games with a sore back, Kobe Bryant will return to the court and be in the Lakers’ starting lineup against the Mavericks tonight at American Airlines Center.
“(Bryant) said he felt ready to go, felt fine,” said Lakers coach Byron Scott said 90 minutes before the opening tip. “He wanted to give it a try. Obviously, we’ll keep a close eye on him.
“We talked this afternoon and just talked again. He got some shots up. His back feels loose, so we’ll see how he reacts.”
In his 20th NBA season, the 37-year-old Bryant is averaging 16.5 points, shooting 32 percent from field and 20.8 on 3-pointers while playing 29.2 minutes per game. He last played Sunday in New York, scoring 18 points on 6-for-19 in the Lakers 99-95 loss to the Knicks.
