Mavericks’ Rondo has orbital, nasal fracture

VIDEO: Rajon Rondo suffers an injury against the Orlando Magic

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS — Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo is out for the foreseeable future with an orbital fracture to his left eye and a nasal fracture. He suffered the injury during Saturday’s game against the Orlando Magic.

The Mavericks’ leader in assists, Rondo will miss tonight’s game against Minnesota as well as road games this week against the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Rondo’s status will updated later this week, according to the team, as more information becomes available.

Rondo suffered the injury just 98 seconds into the game against the Magic. He tripped over the leg of Magic point guard Elfrid Payton and took an accidental knee to the face from teammate Richard Jefferson, who was sprinting down the court on a fast break and did not see Rondo on the ground.

lol RJ didn’t even think to check on him. just tryna get these buckets!

  3. tiedash says:

his own man jeff richardson took him out. i wouldn’t be surprised if there was locker room drama going on. rondo is known to be a cancer if things don’t go exactly his way.

  4. Barry Bird says:

Rondo is tough as nails man. When he gets in fights on the court he won’t use his fists to strike because that would be too easy. He will only use his nails during testy times and maybe add in a slap or two, look up his fights, you might learn a move or two. Freakin Rage’on Rondo man, wow.

Rondo’s tough as nails. I’m sure if it was his choice, he won’t be missing time at all!

My favorite player, get well soon Rajon

  7. Johnny says:

I wish him a full recovery but the Mavericks will be a lot better without him. Dallas has been one of the best offensive team in the league and Rondo doesn’t fit in that roll. The Monta Ellis and Davin Harris duo with the backup of JJ Barea will be more productive and the best winning option for the team.

  8. Eric Zap says:

Rondo is pound for pound the toughest guy in the NBA. I watched him finish a game with a dislocated elbow. I knew when he didn’t come back in the game that this was serious. Go get that mask fitted, we’ll see you soon.

  9. Mat says:

I Used to hate him back in Boston, now he’s OK. Quite unfortunate to get run over like that by your own teammate. But fortunately it’s not a serious injury for a basketball player if you compare it to joint problems for example. Hope he gets back soon and helps the Mavs get at least to conference semis.

  10. ImMe says:

I have a feeling Mavericks will be doing a lot better with out him, not blaming it on Rondo but they haven’t really meshed yet cause of a mid season trade but come back soon rondo!! Get back to being a triple dub threat, not just half a triple dub threat lol
