Kobe sits for second straight game on Lakers’ road trip

NBA.com Staff Report

It hasn’t even hit the All-Star Break, and resting-the-stars plans all over the league have taken flight. Monday night, it’s Lakers legend Kobe Bryant back on the bench for some rest.

It’s Mamba’s second straight game on the bench — he also rested Friday’s loss to Utah. The Lakers are in the midst of a four-game road trip and play next at New Orleans on Wednesday (On League Pass, 8 ET).

All this rest it’s quite a shame, it’s time for a less games season or more weeks schedule.

Kobe Bryant is holding the Lakers hostage. I can’t believe the owners and management staff made such a poor decision by paying him all those millions on a 2 year contract, they should have let him test free agency. At the time they resigned him, he was still injured and not even playing. Didn’t they anticipate that based on his age he would need restrictions? And didn’t they realize they would be unable to build a championship team around him w limited money based on giving it all to him? Kobe came into the season saying he aims to win a championship. He’s dense too. Fakers for Life.

At the very minimum, have Kobe sit out away games, but play as many home games for all the season ticket holders in LA.

It is very interesting to note that the San Antonio SPuRS’ coach was fined $225,000 last year for benching four of his players to give them rest after a back to back game aganst the Miami Heat. Coach Popovitch was vindicated by whipping the Heat in 5 games to win the 2014 NBA Championship. Now other coaches realize the value of taking care of the star players…

Man, I love you Kobe and I think you’re an all time great… but I think it’s time. Enjoy your millions and start your life outside of basketball.

With Kobe gone, a potential top 5 draft pick and Randle back, I think the Lakers can do some serious rebuilding for 2015-2016.
