Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski got the stove warm on the rumors Wednesday evening…

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein got in on the action, too…

  1. Connor says:

Rajon Rondo is not going anywhere until Danny Ainge gets what he wants. You’ve been talking about it for the past three years and Rondo is still playing for the Boston Celtics. The offers so far are inadequate. I would rather see Rondo stay with the Celtics for his ninth season with them, make the playoffs (7th or 8th seed very doable), built a winning culture with his young teammates, then re-sign. If not, I would rather see him go into free agency and to another team while the Celtics have $13 million more freed up for their roster, then trade him to another team for an inadequate return. I would only trade the best point guard in the NBA for a top-flight, rim-protecting center.

  2. Lakersman-krunch says:

Im a laker fan that knows basketball. Rondo will not hurt the lakers. He would help us tremendously. I believe we have the worst guards in the nba(minus kobe). They’re not horrible just undersized not the best on defense and dont seem to be able to bring certain needs we lack at pg. Rondo would bring all of that, plus some. The lakers should seriously pursue Rondo to pair with kobe to make lakerland an attractive place to play to free agents.

  3. QGam says:

Dallas would be the best place for Rondo

Tyson, Chandler, Dirk, Monta, AND RONDO????
    —->BEST DEAL!!!!!!<—-

  4. Zhetong says:

    no to trading Wirght

  5. Rodi Kobe says:

    HI..I am a lakers fan…….PLZ DNT TAKE RONDO TO LAKERS……HE WILL BE A DISASTER ………HE will not improve the lakers…he s a bad shooter…take him anywhere else…

  6. BigCitySid says:

Celtics on the verge getting into playoff position in the East would prefer to go to the lottery. True reality check.

  7. c's4l says:

Rondo has to be the most overrated pg of all time. He would be coming off the bench if it wasn’t for kg, pp, and shuttlesworth. Last year was brutal “waiting” for him to return for the media to realize he can’t score or carry a team. They need to make this trade but I’m sure it will be for garbage and a few picks.

  8. ftb says:

Come to Houston for donates motiejunas and soon Corey brewer

  9. ism says:

Oh lol. Rondo in Dallas would be so much fun to watch. It could make the Mavs the most watchable team ever, in a heartbeat. It might not suffice for the championship, but meshing players and making new combinations work happens quicker in Dallas than anywhere else. And the TV ratings just might explode.

  10. WojtekKaczmarek says:

Lakers should trade 80% team for Rondo …

  11. lol says:

Rondo is a great PG, a really play-making guy but he wouldn’t fit in Houston because Harden is too dominant. Houston has to get a good PF or Center along with D12. I say Brook Lopez from the Nets, C: Lopez – PF: Howard – W: Ariza – PG: Beverley – SG: Harden

    • #dwade#flash says:

you know having those two will clogged down the paint? and that wont be good for Harden,? they need a spacer, stretch 4?

if you put howard on 4, it would be raining bricks all day lol

  12. Geronimo says:

Boston should built around Rondo and trade the young pieces

    Boston: D Cousins+ J Smith
    Detroit: G Wallace+ 1rnd pick
    Sac: Smart+ Olynyck.

    Benefit all teams

  13. Celtic fan says:

Houston probably don’t even need a point guard they got James Harden, what Houston needs is some depth on the bench.

  14. ILR says:

we really don’t know if these news are true but if it is I wouldn’t trade rondo at all unless maybe another team can offera player or players who can create an equal or even more impact as to what rondo had offered the Celtics.

  15. Overrated? Dude’s a triple-double machine, and could very well come within a rebound or two of AVERAGING a trip-dub this season. I really really hope the Lakers or Mavs snag him!

  16. harriethehawk says:

Stop the madness! Russell Westbrook to the Celtics? Are you kidding me? He is on the race for MVP! OKC I guarantee you, is not in these talks at this moment in time. I see Rondo as a good fit for both Sacramento or Dallas. The first being where he is needed the most. Please don’t send him to the New York Knickerbonkers. They are still playing ring around the rosie because they haven’t graduated to the triangle offense yet. Rajon Rondo is not a bum and need not have his joy stolen by those guys, He is not overrated, just plays on a bad team. Cliff Paul is overrated.

  17. Eja24 says:

Rondo would be a disaster for the Lakers. He needs the ball in order to create and be effective, but that will interfere with Kobe’s shot jacking. He also can’t shoot so the only thing he would be doing well is defending. They’d be much better off getting Mario Chalmers, but seeing as how Rondo would be a disaster for the Lakers, I hope they do it.

  18. Rhedz03 says:

Rondo is better in boston, he just needs a good supporting cast. If Boston moves him to another team boston will get a good deal, If that happens rondo could be more effective in teams like sacramento or pelicans or lakers or pistons.

    • Ron says:

Rheddz…you had the teams all wrong…He would not be good in Sacramento. Cousins doesn’t run the floor and Rondo is not good in the half court as he can’t shoot or score consistently. He is draw and kick…
Houston is the best fit for him and you are right on the Pelicans. They can use him too…He would be a disaster with Van Gundy in Detroit…

  19. BlackMamba24 says:

    Jeremy Lin for Rondo please!

  20. James Wong says:

He’s a one and done Champion, I cant believe how overrated this guy is

  21. o'brien84 says:

It’s about time for Rondo to leave. Ainge ruined the Celtics 08. Why stay?

  22. EARL CASTANEDA says:

RAJON RONDO WILL BE CELTIC FOR LIFE.. WHY WOULD YOU TRADE RONDO HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE LEGIT PG IN THE NBA!!

  23. Dantheman says:

Celtics will trade to get a superstar…….they will trade everyone else except Rondo & Olynyk

  24. RONDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

    Oh man so interesting
I know he should go to Dallas or even NY(they could be good with him and a legit 2 guard)

BUT………hed be sick with Kobe in LA too.

BUT…………………id trade him for Irving, with Rondo the Cavs win for the next half decade!!!!!!!!!!

  25. MARLON TORRES says:

No, RONDO IS THE CAPTAIN OF THE BOSTON CELTICS. AND HE SHOULD SIGN OTHER CONTRACT WITH THE CELTICS. RONDO IS A LONG TERM.

  26. MARLON TORRES says:

THE TRADE WITH RAJON RONDO ARE FALSE. HE WILL STAY HAS A BOSTON CELTICS. I DON’T KNOW WHY DO THE MANAGER WANTS TO TRADE RONDO.

  27. George says:

TRADE WESTBROOK FOR RONDO! KD WOULD BENEFIT A LOT!

    • Vicious Vic says:

Yah that would be beneficial to OKC….
.BUT………………….Westbrook is far more valuable then rondo
I would trade westbrook for Rondo and olynyk(tall blonde kid)

      DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Jared slate says:

Westbrook is easily a top 5 player. Why trade for a maybe top 15 player . That’s being very generous. By the way he would be # 15… #ThunderupKids

      • Westbrook for Rondo would be one of the dumbest trades in NBA history. Westbrook leads Rondo in almost every statistical category. And is younger. And is comfortable in the system. Also, Rondo has a .614 free throw percentage, which is inexcusable for a PG.

    • dREDd5150 says:

IF Rondo is going to be traded, I agree. OKC is the ONLY team that Boston should trade with. Brendan Wright is a good forward/center but the Celts are loaded at the 4 and 5. PLUS, Olynyk is developing quite well. Westbrook for Rondo + a few others would be a good trade.

For OKC, this would be a blessing. Let’s face it, the Durant/Westbrook combo is great during the regular season but, when it really counts, they have not been good together. It’s just how it is. And it has been for the past 3 years. Also, Jackson & Lamb have grown a lot this past year. With Rondo at the PG, Durant, Jackson, Lamb & Ibaka will have a great time coz everyone will get a touch. And come crunch time, you know the ball is going to be with Durant.

For Boston, Westbrook now becomes the face of the franchise. With Olynyk, Green, Bradley & Sullinger, they’d be playoff contenders for sure.

OKC should want this trade. Dallas has nothing Boston needs, unless they’re willing to trade Monta.
