HANG TIME NEW JERSEY — What do regular season head-to-head matchups mean? We’re about to find out.

The Miami Heat are the two-time defending champs and just cruised through the first round. But they’re about to face the team that beat them four times this season. In fact, the Brooklyn Nets were the first team ever to sweep a LeBron James team in four regular season meetings.

But the Nets led those four games by a total of three points at the end of regulation. And the Heat obviously know how to flip the switch in the postseason.

Here are some statistical nuggets regarding the No. 2 and No. 6 seeds in the Eastern Conference, as well as the four games they played against each other.

Lebron James isn’t mad that he lost MVP title. He’s going for the gold.

  2. Game Ball says:

@fakers and Faba It doesn’t smell…. HEAT will Get that 3PEAT…. lakers? LOL.. Just pray or use your time machine and rewind it… undone kobe’s contract extension, undone D’antoni’s signing and pick Phil Jackson instead… Create your own blog… lakers are DONE years back… So what are you doing here??? WIzards??? Really??? Just like Bullets with CWEBB and J Howard Vs MJ PIPPEN during the 90’s.. You know what?? History repeats itself… Don’t underestimate the HEART of a CHAMPION…..

  3. Faba says:

i agree with lakers, wizards look strong right now and just cant imagine that hibbert will do a better job against Bosh than against Pero Antic in the first Round, Bosh will make Hibbert run even more to that 3pt line. Anyway Heat are the best team in the eastern Conference and deserve to go to the finals. But they also deserve to lose in the Finals against a better Western Conference team like 2011

  4. iamironman says:

Miami in 5. LBJ is angry because of that lost MVP.

  5. lakers says:

Miami in 6….then lose to Washington in Eastern Finals….heard it here first

  6. theholyspectator says:

i think miami wins the series 4-2.

  7. Game Time says:

We’ve already seen three seasons in a row what regular season wins mean over Miami, NOTHING! Should still be a good series but I think Miami pulls it off in 5.

  8. Nbafan says:

It would be interesting if all the higher seed teams go down 0-1. Imagine if the Nets win the championship…very few people would expect that!

  9. Faba says:

brooklyn beat raptors in 7 in the first round not chicago in 5
