VIDEO: Wizards vs. Pacers, Series Preview

HANG TIME NEW JERSEY – After going down three games to two, the No. 1 seed Indiana Pacers managed to escape the first round and avoid a disastrous result, considering where they were at the All-Star break.

They still have work to do to get back to the conference finals. With more traditional bigs, the Washington Wizards don’t present the unique matchup challenge that the Atlanta Hawks did, but they’re a better team on both ends of the floor, and they just dispatched the team that most resembles the Pacers.

Game 1 taken by the Wizzards… Pacers have hangover and for sure will end up fishing if they don’t act and get their heads together.

  2. okc2014 says:

    Celentano, we are in agreement!

  3. Mike says:

7:00 Monday. Time to put your money where your mouth is!!! Pacers in 5-6

  4. Pablo says:

Gortat wil crash Hibbert !!! :-D Wizzard wil crash Pacers !!! :-D

  5. Macz says:

In my opinion, it’s the only moment when Wizards can beat Pacers, it’s because Pacers are at their worst condition of the season, while Wizards are at their best. Nene and Wall will be the key players, and will lead them to the conference finals
(where they will loose with Heat).

  6. celentano says:

Pacers ain’t a complete team this year eather so nope Pacers exit second round!!!Wizards are very hungry so theyr a dangerous team,Wall gonna makes the wizardz shine and rise, wall is a mini Magic today!

  7. zee says:

Unfortunately for the Pacers the momentum is definitely against them and believe it or not the momentum is a huge factor in sports, a lot of the times athletes are prepared very similar – both physically and mentally and it is the pshycological approach that matters. It is very difficult for me to believe that the Wizards will win this series but they do have the players to match up against the Pacers. Especially Nene, Wall and Beal. Gortat is not as good as Hibbert but certainly can give him rough time, especially when you consider he is fighting for a contract of his lifetime. All will depend on the chemistry in the Pacer team as well as the play of David West and the bench. For me the Pacers in six.

  8. Larry Lee says:

LOL! what have you been smoking.

Wizards got lucky in first round cause of no D. Rose. They will not beat the Pacers. Yes, I agree with the fact of don’t count them out, shouldn’t count any team out in the playoffs, but if you think Wizards can beat the Pacers, you are wrong. Pacers are much more experience and they are NOT THAT OLD. Wiz will make them sweat but Pacers in 6 the most.

  9. Erik B says:

I’m surprised how many people think Wizards are really going to cause matchup problems for the Pacers. In all reality they match up at every position except PG. The article says that G Hill does a great job at shutting down Wall though so where’s the advantage? They are the worst shooting team left in the playoffs going against the best D. This is their first trip to the playoffs and the Pacers are in their 4th straight. Wizards are good, but they have a lot of growing up to do before they can get past this round. Don’t tell me the Bulls are like the Pacers just because they play hard D. It’s a totally different scheme and the Bulls have no scoring threat. Stephenson, PG24, and D. West can ball out and score and everyone else is capable and liable to go off any given night. Wizards are hungry and talented, but they’re just not savvy enough to take it past 6 games tops.

  10. andrew says:

you guys are dumb heat got a week off and the pacers almost got out the first round paul geroge shouldn’t of played in game 7 he shoulve been suspeened heat is going to play the spurs again and win it all

  11. BBall Fan says:

Pacers have been BAD of late. They have played like a BAD team. They would have been swept by any team in the Western playoffs. They went to 7 games agaisnt the Hawks, the HAWKS for christ’s sake, Wizards will win this one.

  12. nba says:

wizards will win. nene and gortat over hibbert and west. beal over hill.

  13. JamesP says:

From what I see in the NBA playoffs, the Wizards have the best team out there this year and they going to make some noise this year all the way to the finals.John Wall has more talent around him now and I think this is a complete team at this time and
their hunger is great for a championship. And I think the NBA should reward Baltimore with a NBA team,it would be good for
sports market around there. You have the Ravens and Redskins in football and the Orioles and Nationals in Baseball, why not
have another nba team in that area in Baltimore. They had a CFL football team in Baltimore named the Stallions and that would be a good name for a NBA team in Baltimore.Give Baltimore a NBA team it will be good for that area market.

    • MrHegemony says:

So you’re saying that the team with the worst shooting percentage in these playoffs is “the best team?” Sounds legit.

    • artifex says:

I agree in that the Wizards have shown great bball and I say they have a good chance against Indiana. If that holds against Nets/Heat (likelier the Heat) I don’t know… – I don’t see them victorious over any western semi-team…yet.
Give them 2-3 years to grow.

As for Baltimore, I don’t see a chance either. The NW is already packed. In between DC and Philly…? If the Wiz don’t move out (and they won’t under Leonsis) I don’t think so. And if any city has a chance to get a franchise moving there its Seattle above all…
If any Canadian is interested I could see one team going to the North (while the Vancouver history speaks against it, the rise of Toronto and the start of Wiggins career could give Canadian BB a boost).

  14. JamesP says:

I think the Miami Heat are burned out and they are not at full throttle.John Wall and the Wizards are strong and hungry and possess to much championship desire than any team out there. The spurs will make it to the nba finals for reasons they are
to experience and are fighters warriors. The spurs remind me of Roberto Duran in boxing.Wizards vs Spurs in finals.

    • Average Joe says:

Man which league are you watching? Heat burned out? That’s a laugh. They have been pacing themselves all season and they had plenty of rest after dispatching a very feisty Bobcats in four. I think after getting rid of some rust after taking all that time off, they will have a great series against the Nets. Couldn’t wait to watch those games.

  15. JamesP says:

This is the Washington Wizards year and I think the Wizards pond for pound are the best team out there at this time.I think the Wizards will meet the Spurs in the NBA finals and the Wizards upset the spurs 4 games to 3.

    • thespectator says:

lol, i needed this, good laugh, bahaha..

    • Woh says:

wow man, don’t dream that much !!! Pacers win, Heat beat the Pacers…Spurs beat the Heat,,Tim Duncan retires.

      • JamesP says:

Time will tell and we will see in the end.The Heat are burned out and sometimes dreams come true.Just don’t count the wizards
out they a good team.I know it’s funny to you,but anything can happen in reality, just make sure you don’t be eating crow when it’s said and done. You have a great day and we will see what happens in the playoffs this year. The Wizards originated from
Baltimore and they was called the Baltimore Bullets for they moved to Washingotn,DC.I know this because I am originally
        from Baltimore.

    • Ha!! says:

Washington is actually the worst team remaining in the playoffs… They will NOT make it past the Pacers.. End of discussion!!

      • Avery says:

hahahhahaha i agree Pacers are more prepared.

      • Matrix says:

I think the first game is going to be the most important in this series…the first team that show mind weaknees will lose.
IMO The Wizzards should win cause they deserve it more then the Pacers after the 1st round

      • artifex says:

depends on how well the Pacers recover after the 1st round.
Didn’t look very stable then. But agree, that 1st is gone and the account is blank.
But I give the Wiz a chance.
