Hang Time One-On-One … With Danny Green

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – Danny Green was roughly 30 seconds away from a potentially life-altering moment in The Finals last season. His San Antonio Spurs were on the verge of dethroning the Miami Heat, thanks to the otherworldly shooting display Green put on throughout the series.

But it was not to be. LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and the Heat rebounded in Game 6 and went on to win the series and delay Green’s rise from a relatively anonymous role player to a full-fledged Finals hero who helped deliver yet another championship for future Hall of FamersĀ Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Gregg Popovich.

So what has life been like for Green since his star turn on the league’s biggest and brightest stage? How does his role change this season for the Spurs, who square off against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight at Staples Center (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)?

Find out in the debut episode of Hang Time One-On-One, our new feature where we dive a little deeper with the stars, role players, movers and shakers in the NBA:

Danny Green needs to put the ball on the floor to complete his game, his spot up shooting is deadly just needs the handles to back it up when players start respecting his shot, but with Marco Belineli coming off the bench we should improve on our dribble penetration this year, along with Patty Mills and Corey Joseph as our solid back up point guards, and if Duncan can have a All NBA First Team type year then I only hope we rematch the Heat in the finals this year!

Where was a screen, so he could take a single open 3 during game seven?

  3. Freida says:

Everyone forgets LeBron got them to them to 92 – 95. It is a team effort. It is not a one man team. If that was the case LeBron would have won a championship for the Cavs. That’s why we have Ray Allen on our team. Go Miami Heat again!!

Hopefully Danny Green does it again this year !

Nah, MIAMI got him figured out and showed the league to just put a body on him. He’s just a spot up shooter; a good one though, I’ll give you that, but still a spot up shooter.
