Who’s Left? A Look At The Numbers

HANG TIME NEW JERSEY — It’s been 15 days since teams could start talking to free agents and six days since contracts could be signed. And at this point, pickings are slim. If you want an impact player, you’re probably going to have to settle for a guy that makes an impact only some of the time.

Here’s what’s left on the free-agent market as of Tuesday morning, according to the numbers guys put up last season.

There were 30 free agents available on July 1 (or who became available afterward) who had played at least 2,000 minutes last season. Only three remain …

For the sake of fun and old time, let us bring back Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom to Lakers. They already got Jordan Farmar. Along with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, who knows Lakers may win another hard to believe championship.

Nate Robinson is a good point gard for te Knicks.

  5. T-Run-G says:

The heat wont pick up any of those guys…if they had to drop Mike Miller because of the salary tax, why would they go looking to pick anyone else up from free agency? They would have to drop players before they would pick up, and I cant see them dropping anyone else. Maybe Juwan howard? hire him as part of coaching staff?

  6. Ziden says:

the mavericks stell needs a centor!!! I stell dont get y we even got 4 or 5 pgs

  7. Kal says:

come on Raptors… Jennings or Robinson… get one of them! any price! just move in with Heat/Nets/Bulls/Pacers/Knicks/Cavs/Pistons or the Wizards may take our eighth!

Lakers need a point that can play d Nash is old and his lack of speed and strength will hurt us when going up against stronger guards and the west are stocked with them BRANDON JENNINGS or Nate Robinson will do they both get there hands on the the balls a lot i wouldn’t mind getting Samuel Dalembert or Brandan Wright we going to need that help on the inside

  12. Frankjoji says:

  18. Shawn M. says:

If I’m not mistaking but I believe the Chicago Bulls need some more talent..
They always seem to make it to the playoffs but then choke when they really want it the most.
If anything The Bulls need a lot more players who can bring their talent to the table.

  19. Jovan says:

I think the knicks should get Lamar odom and make New York a fair with world peace and melo, born nyc

  20. Jr says:

The Heat should sign Gary Neal if they will release Mike Miller.

  21. waltyray says:

Yeah right! Mo Williams should NOT and will NOT go the Mavs. They have like 8 guards already.

    • romafan says:

@Psymon….Looool…why shud Jennings go Houston??..why shud jennings go to any team to be a BACKUP ?…thunder not taking any one else not even fisher and the bulls are really moving shabby with nate….but he’ll find the right place

  22. Rasjid Black says:

Nate Robinson shoul either be on Hawks or Miami Heat and Brandon Jennings should be on Hawks or Clippers

  23. theshow says:

The lakers should bring in Brandan Wright! High energy and athletic big guy! Something we lack at times!

  24. Wildstyle05 says:

I think the Lakers just need to pick it two more players but make sure they’re willing to sign for less more this year and make more next year with the cap space so tell Lamar Odom welcome you should have never left and welcome LA Brandon Jennings

  25. Rodel says:

    Celtics must sign Lamar Odom..!!

  26. I'm sexy says:

Jerry Stackhouse should retire and eat Steak in his Steakhouse

  27. I'm so stupid says:

LAKERS should get Brandan Wright. he will make lakers to the championship and eat spaghetti

  28. Kobe4life says:

    Lamar Odom back to LAKERS

  29. j says:

Please bring BRANDON JENNINGS to the CELTICS. WE NEED A BACK UP P.G !!!!

  30. Psymon says:

  31. Arin-Douglas Haliburton says:

The lakers should sign Brandon Jennings, let nick young start small forward and sign Lamar odom for bench scoring.

  32. stephen says:

are the bulls even considering making Robinson an offer? Or is he gonna command too much after that postseason?

    • jerk says:

no the bulls are not going to offer nate a contract they only have 2 vet minimum contracts left to hand out, i was hoping they would get anthony morrow…to late for that tho.

  33. COCo says:

bring back lamar odom to Lakers and retain Jamison.

  34. J says:

somebody should do an article where they think these players will land

  35. chau says:

i think boston should pick up Nikola Pekovic, because boston don’t have any stronge center.

  36. Jmoney says:

TORONTO RAPTORS SIGN NATE ROBINSON he will sign bright like my corn…!!!

  37. Rhedz says:

I think lakers should get odom and nate and sign kenyon martin for min. Veteran…

    So itll be

    C Kaman – j.hill
    Pf P.gasol – k.martin
    Sf Odom – d.ebanks
    Sg Bryant – nick young – j.meeks
    Pg Nash – n.robinson – blake

    Goudelock pg
    Sacre c
    Kelly sf/ pf

  38. ryan says:

Lakers need to Tank 4 Wiggins. but they should get Jennings and get him on that wagon and Mullens. Tank this year even tho i dont want to see it. And find a center next year. Kaman? really lakers coulda found someone else.

  39. gad says:

wow. there are still pretty damn good players out on the market. good enough to drastically improve any team.
the lakers for example, who are now broken, and have holes both in the front and back cout can really improve by adding guys like jennings and nate robinson, and a big guy like odom or pekovic. except for pekovic none of this guys take more than 6-7 million.

    • Michael says:

The lakers are not trying to sign anybody til they see what James and Melo will do next year. if that means having a losing season then they will take that.

      • Kamil says:

Why would Lebron or Melo want to join a team coming off a losing season/season’s? Just because its LA? Drafting high isn’t enough. It’s not like they are getting younger. They are going to want to compete immediately.

  40. matthew mathis says:

the last 4 pieces the lakers should pick up to have a shot is nate, lamar, miller, and gooden.

    • These are good picks. But I really don’t think Robinson and O’Dom would fit in w/ D’Antoni’s system. Niether defensively or offensively.

And then, there’s the cap space issue. Miller would be a gr8 addition to the Laker bench but after having capture his second title in Miami, I don’t think he would accept a mini or mid-level salary. If they did pickup his contract it would be for next season, only. And if I know Miller, he wouldn’t waste his time with such an offer. Gooden…yes. It would be nice to see him and D’Antoni work an offense.

  41. chris says:

nate robinson to the toronto raptors plz hello toronto

  42. lee says:

id be looking at guys like odem jennings neal if you need a 3 point shooteri really think the bulls should bring odem in he would fit there perfect then trade boozer and a couple of picks for bosh and you would have 2 stretch 4s who play fair defense and rebound well to fit beside noah could really get the team over the hump as far as jennings goes i dont seeanybody offering him anything because he is inmature neal will be brough dalembert will get signed but i dont think he is cabable of starting anymore i could see him signing for the right team like the spurs on a low contract

  43. celentano says:

Good idea but Brandon jennings is a better choice same energy like J.Wall.

  44. Lakers4life says:

    And Lamar Odom.

  45. Game Time says:

Please bring in Mullens to Miami. That’s all they need to have a solid team with no major holes at a given position.

  46. nba fan says:

the lakers should pick up nate Robinson he brings in energy
