Heat Shooters Knock ‘Em Down

MIAMI – LeBron James established early on in this postseason that he would handle his business. He was focused and aggressive from start to finish. And though Dwyane Wade wasn’t at his best and Chris Bosh missed nine games, they were still about as good as you can get when it comes to secondary stars.

But as good as the big three were, the Heat needed more. Specifically, they needed guys to make shots from the perimeter.

“We need them hunting down shots,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said early in the first round, adding that he wanted Mike Miller taking 10 3-pointers per game. “We need our guys finding them in rhythm with timely passes, and for them to let it go, with absolute confidence. That helps our game, obviously.”

Simple concept. The shooters open up lanes for the attackers (James and Wade). The attackers create open shots for the shooters.

Miller never did take 10 threes in a game this postseason, but he came close in Game 5 of The Finals, shooting 7-for-8 from downtown to help James, Wade and Bosh win their first championship together.

“That’s why it’s fun playing with these guys,” Miller said. “They get a double and it gives you an opportunity. Tonight, I had some opportunities and fortunately I knocked them down.”

Miller battled back pain throughout the playoffs, couldn’t play more than a few minutes some nights, and seemed to hunch over in agony at every dead ball. He might need surgery in the next few weeks and didn’t rule out retirement after the game. But on the night his team had a chance to win a championship, Miller found the energy (flexibility?) to light it up and pour it on.

“Through the injuries,” Miller said, “I’m just glad they didn’t take me back to the barn and put me down.”

Miller’s 23 points (in 23 minutes) were the second-most he’d scored in his two season with the Heat. The seven threes were the most he’d made since January of 2010.

While Miller was struggling early in the series (he was 0-for-3 on threes through the first four games), Shane Battier was the guy knocking down shots. Battier shot an incredible 15-for-26 from 3-point range in The Finals, finishing with an effective field goal percentage of 85.5 percent in the series. EFG% = (FGM + (0.5*3PM)) / FGA

Mario Chalmers got into the act too, hitting five threes in the final two games. After shooting 32.5 percent from 3-point range through the first three rounds of the playoffs, the Heat shot 42-for-98 (42.9 percent) in the Finals. Against their toughest opponent, they got the shots they needed.

James shot just 7-for-38 from outside the paint in The Finals. But it didn’t matter one bit, because he attacked the basket and his teammates made their shots.

Congratulations to the Miami Heat for putting up an exciting NBA series; the focus and the mental attitude to stay on top of the game can be felt in all the games and especially in the interviews. It was truly a phenomenal journey for a basketball team that faced tremendous odds and challenges throughout the year. And especially in the last game of the Finals, what really became apparent was how everyone felt the responsibility to pitch in; to simply win the game and reach the elusive goal of becoming the NBA champions of 2012. Actually, it became scary how everybody’s shots started just going in and how players were scrambling for the loose balls. What a wonderful thing it was to witness a harmony of efforts that put the doubts out of the whole crowd’s minds; that they truly deserved to be the winners. Oklahoma did well too and they have nothing to be ashamed abt with what they have accomplished; people all over will no longer take this team as a young up coming team but as a tream that is fready to pounce at the opportunity, when it rises again. OKC will definitely sound the clap of thunder again in next year’s games. But for now the glory goes to the Heat who willed the championship thru sheer guts and determination. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  2. basketball fan says:

when thunder won game 1,they said its gonna be 4-0 like when they swept the mavericks,i never believed it.in game 4 they said it’ll gonna be 2-2 and thunder will take the next 2 games just like what they did with the spurs but i never believed it too.what i believed was what jeff van gundy said in 2010-2011 season.”I dont believe that the collaboration of these 3 superstars will win a championship this season yet,but they will eventually”.He’s right they just won the championship with the help of these shooters.

  3. love the Heat says:

can someone please tell me if that was the most 3’s that the Heat ever made in any game? Who would have thought that the Heat would destroy an opponent with 3’s, and in the final too? Heat & 3’s??? they don’t go together. If they are continue to be able to shoot 3s next season, I’m positive that they will be back to the final. Decent 3s shooters, 2 best basket attackers, 1 great midrange shooter, pick your poison. A beginning of a DYNASTY!!!

  4. KenN says:

    Nice game fo d HEAT
i hope nxt yir it would be miami heat taking d crown again

GO MIAMI. Mike did very well and so did the rest of the team. Looking for a great season next year. Hope Lebron get a few more rings.

  9. HeatDreamers says:

funny how arrogant these fans are just because they won courtesy of game changing calls in favor of their team.. Admit it but guess they won’t cause most of Heat fans came from the egocentric people who would only want to see what they want to see and what will make them feel good.. Enjoy the moment foe it wont happen again anytime soon as you’ve already been planning and shouting out to everyone.. Premature celebrators..

MET MIKE MILLER AT THE PILOT TRUCK STOP IN MITCHELL SD AFTER LEAVING THE BAR ( THE JACKPOT) WITH FRIENDS TO EAT BREAKFAST AFTER A NITE OF BEVERAGE SAMPLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE’S DRESSED IN A BRIGHT YELLOW NIKE OUTFIT FROM HEAD TO TOE….THIS WAS IN 1999….I ASKED COURT FRENCH WHO’S THE GUY EVERYONE IS TALKING TO THAT LOOKS LIKE AN EAR OF CORN….DAMN YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK ?????? THAT MIKE MILLER OF MITCHELL HIGH SCHOOL HE’S GOING TO BE AN NBA STAR ONE OF THESES DAYS CAUSE THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN’T DO WITH A BASKETBALL…NEEDLESS TO SAY WENT TO THE TRUCK STOP STORE BOUGHT A MINI BASKETBALL…(YELLOW) AND ASK THIS SOMEDAY SUPERSTAR IF HE WOULD BE SO KINDS AS TO AUTOGRAPH IT FOR ME…HE DID NOT HESITATE AND SAID HE’D BE GLAD TO……AS OF THIS DAY I STILL HAVE THE “YELLOW BALL” AND NOT ONLY IS MIKE A GREAT BALL PLAYER AND ROLL MODEL HE’S NOT FORGOT HIS SOUTH DAKOTA VALUES AND ROOTS…..CONGRATES MAIMI ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND CONGRATES MIKE MILLER…..WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT SHOOTING LAST NITE KID!!!!!

  13. CManley says:

Boy did the NBA need this. Big money, big market, Greatest Player of All-time. I am glad that the team they wanted to win did. I have never seen such a production of support from the league, news outlets, and sports commentators directed so much at one player. There are no haters out there, maybe in Cleveland (he could have won there). I knew the game was over at the “flagrant” called in the 3rd quarter. We know that this is good for the NBA, and that’s great to make some money, but now we need to move away from “the Decision”-type media bias and move back towards competitive play where floppers don’t get rewarded. We all knew who was going to win these finals way before the playoffs started.

I’m a Twolves fan, so I could care less. I just want to see a fair game played that has no outright bias. I don’t think I will see

    • TheRileyLegacy says:

@CManley Just wow… First off if the NBA organization wanted to maximize profit, THEY WOULD’VE DRAGGED IT TO GAME 7!!! It’s simple economics there. That flagrant call was bs as it was just a foul however Miami had SEVEN fouls called against them by the beginning of the second quarter with the vast majority of them being caused by James Hardens Oscar winning performance… that right there debunks your conspiracy theory.

    • TheRileyLegacy says:

The fact that he is the best player in the world stands since I don’t see Kobe playing power forward anytime soon, but guess what? Lebron can since his athleticism for his size is remarkable as it allows him to be EXTREMELY versatile. Is he already the best small forward of all-time? Absolutely since the only small forward LBJ can be compared to in the past would’ve been Pippen who was the most complete SF (yes more complete than Larry Bird, Dominique, James Worthy, or Dr. J) ever. The Greatest player of all-time? I don’t think so and yes there are idiots who would say that he is eventhough Kobe has better credentials. Does he have the potential to be the G.O.A.T? Yes because putting the idolization of MJ aside, the fact of the matter is Lebron is just as versatile as MJ as he can literally play just about any position on both sides of the court effectively. His latent leadership ability has been shown throughout the playoffs and really came out in the finals since he’s proven that his teammates resonate through him and play better when his performance is great. Last year he played poorly and the team played poorly as well as a result even with D Wade being pretty much the only player that was relatively unaffected by Lebrons sub par performance last year.

  14. Bryvy says:

Well it’s been a night for me, almost went to sleep but i’ve patiently read all of the comments here and it seems like critic will criticize and haters will hate more… They hated Lebron for coming in Miami and leaving Cleveland…. They hate him more when they loose last year… and now they hate stern and the refs… come on guys!!!…. when will your wounds heal??? Lebron has his achievements and you gotta admit… even if he didn’t get the title this season… even if he’ll retire early (hope not) we gotta admit that he made a mark in the NBA history not just this season but finishing it with a record with a 3pol 2bol… But as long as there are haters and even if lebron scores 70 pts. per game. haters will always have bucket of reasons to criticize….

  15. durant says:

please stop comparing me to Lebron, he is way better than me..am not fit to wipe his A hole..thank u

  18. PAT RILEY says:

I REMEMBERED ALMOST EVERYBODY PREDICTED OKC WILL WIN IT BY 6,7 ETC. ETC. WHERE ARE YOU NOW???

    • Alexies says:

I was one of those and I still think OCK could have won this series but coach Brooks did not do a very good job. This was the NBA finals and he would not do any adjustments, to match the Heat’s small lineup. They should have moved Westbrook to SG and start Ficher and play with with Ibaka as their Big man or if he just wanted to have Westbrook at PG then start Cook as SG. Then play Lebron straight up with no double teams, make him beat you by himself. Is like coach Brooks kept waiting for the Heat’s shooters to miss which they never did.

But we will see a rematch next year and see if OKC learned their lesson.

  19. jcp13 says:

it is simple nothing beat experience.. Congrats miami heat..this a time to give a ring to the king……..

  20. kirk says:

@takethetruth. you are ignorant about basketball. why you keep blaming the ref.s? blame your team, specialy that point guard looks like ninja turtle.!

  21. JG says:

Since all the haters say the ref gave them the win (the only thhing I’ll give you is that a lot of 50-50 calls went for the Heat)… I guess that:

    – The refs made 7 3-pointers, nvm it was Miller.
    – The refs had a triple double, nvm it was Lebron.
    – The refs didn’t send OKC to the line enough, nvm they are a jump shooting team,
    – The refs scored 121 points, nvm the Heat did.
    – The refs came back to win 3 series from behind, nvm the Heat did.

    MIAMI HEAT CHAMPIONS!!

    • Felix says:

In the finals the refs were good, but what about the bad officiating in the East Finals? The Celtics should have won that series and would have if the refs weren’t rooting for the Heat.

  22. rigor says:

kudos to the Heat for winning the series, finally Lebron have something to be proud of,now he will be consider an elite player,LOL,wow mike miller was explosive on that game, and kudos to him and battier, finally they got a championship ring, here’s a funny thing the former grizzlies have won a title, at first jason williams and james posey way back on 06,and then Pau Gasol on 09 and 2010,Bryan Cardinal last year and now Mike Miller and Shane Battier, congratz to Miami

  23. ivanz says:

I’ve wanted Miller out too before… But not because thinking he’s useless… I paid great respect to this guy… Giving everything he can to help the Team… But he must think also of his own Health… He’s been hurting a lot… Maybe now Miami Heat can spend some money to make him better again…

  24. R M says:

As a Celtics fan, I’m kind of happy to see Lebron win. He’s paid his dues after 9 years in the league. I think the Heat siezed their window of opportunity this season…with Wade seemingly fading and 42% 3 point shooting (similar to what the Mavs did to them last year) I see them having trouble with the repeat.

    • Belizeboy says:

I agree if they did not win this year it would not be likely for them to get one next year. Wade is showing some signs of decline but James and Bosh are still in good shape. Plus they will get better additions next season. Nash already said he was interested in going to Miami.

  25. el stone says:

I don’t understand how Miller can act like he’s so injured he can’t walk, but all that “excruciating” pain seems to magically disappear like elves in a forest once the whistle blows.

Same thing with LeBron and his game 4 menstrual cramps.

  26. theking0522 says:

Man, we are going to see a lot of Miami and OKC in the years to come

  27. theking0522 says:

I am sooo happy for Lebron James. The guy who has never raped or being accused of raping anybody (see Kobe Bryant and Ben Roethlisberger). The guy who has not killed dogs (see Michael Vick). The guy who has never been accused of DUI or for possession of marihuana (see……MULTIPLE EXAMPLES IN PRO SPORTS). Fans can forgive players who cheat on their wives (see Kobe Bryant again) or brake the law. But don’t you dare go on ESPN and raise money for POOR AND SICK CHILDREN. Don’t you dare go on national television to raise money and help children. America won’t forgive you for that. America would rather forgive a rapist or a criminal than a guy with a CLEAN RECORD. Hypocrites!!!!!! It doesn’t matter anymore. Who cares now? The King has a ring and nobody can or will take that away from him. Many of you are a bunch of losers. Lebron has a ring and he is going to have a nice and beautiful summer………Have I mentioned the guy never broke the law?

  28. jonathan says:

I am so glad the Heat won, especially int he way they did it. AS A TEAM!!…Everyone stepped it up!!!!….especially Miller!….

    • Bonafide says:

      ONLY 1, NOT 2, NOT 3, NOT 4, NOT 5, NOT 5, NOT 7…….

Critics only care about bashing teams and comments made by players. The Heat still got a ways to go, but finally started.

      Great Playoffs!!!
2012-2013 is just around the corner, Lets see who can come up BIG.

ONE GREAT MOMENT = PRAISED IN HISTORY

REPEATING GREAT MOMENTS = WORSHIPPED IN HISTORY

  31. HOOKSHOT says:

where did he come from…I consider Miami Heat team as a bunch of misfits, who banded together…

  32. Michael Sora says:

they last year but it toughened them up. they learned that it stars can’t handle it alone and they learned it the hard way. teamwork does! it showed in their games this season. Congratulations Miami!

  33. cheifor1 says:

congrats Heat, although I feel that OKC really choked, how can they beat the best 3 teams in the NBA and not do it against the heat. It felt like the whole thing was fixed, every body wanted the heat to win including the NBA and the officials but I am sure this is not true, the heat played well but OKC really didn’t play like the western conf champions if the Spurs was in it it would of been a different story.
Congrats Heat you definitely played better

  34. Petros says:

Guys just as an outside (european) observer. Stop blaming everything on the refs. You actually have a lot better refs in the nba than we do in europe. Basketball is a difficult sport to officiate and the refs are only human. Sure they make mistakes. But to believe that the outcome of any given game is determined by their will only is just stupid. Some of the best basketball players in the world were putting on a show out there and all that some people focused on were the bad calls. Sad…

  35. LebronNeedsGED says:

Congrats to the Heat, LOL yeah right, finally the NBA is over and Stern got what he needed. Now Lebron’s jersey will be bought and the NBA gets their $$ just like they did with Kobe. Its just sad I was a NBA fan but I got turned away this postseason, printing out t-shirts for OKC before they even one the last game against the Spurs, messed that up. Well atleast the one game Stern showed up to was the one he knew was going to go his way, and it was made so the Heat would be at home when they win the title. The West will win next year, its been East, West, East, West for years now, why stop the pattern now?

    • Belizeboy says:

They print out shirts so they can have them on hand in case they close out the game. If the series was 3-3 they would have had shirts premade for both teams, but I feel I’m probably telling this to a kid or someone who doesn’t know much about ball because you’re comment shows no knowledge of it.

  36. JOJO of Dubai says:

a deserving 2012 champs where start of the finals nobody betting Heat to win it but the bench, big 3 and coach Spo proved!
i feel sorry for KD and RW they still young and they are also winners they will come back for next year as expected but nothing to lose,
all staff of NBA TV,TNT its a job well done see u next season and more power to NBA i love this game!!!!

  37. thisguy says:

Congrats to the Heat for winning their 2nd nba title and Okc should not put their heads down

They have much great talent and are very young. They have an amazing coach in Scott Brooks and they made it to the nba finals> Miami just wanted it more. Now that the thunder are feeling this pain they can only build on it and their is no doubt in my mind that they will make it to the nba finals again. They have a bright future

  38. sanjay says:

hatts off to miller! he came to the party big time. one of the greatest performance by a totally written off support player in the finale! He was needed today to blast off OKC! He was written by one and all! But I would knew he could be deadly once the first one goes inn and they all did! And he was so smooth just like battier!

  39. Ken says:

Im D-wade fan. Congrat to Heat!
Before starting Game1, I did think OKC has a deeper rosters and a greater chance to win the series. but Heat’s role players proved me wrong after Game2 win in OKC. Im glad that “other guys”: Battier stepped up in Game2&3, Rio in Game4 and Miller in Game5 to help “Big 3″. Really hope that Heat can add a decent big man next season.
Look forward to D-wade’s 3rd ring!!!!

  40. lakermig says:

Last year when i saw the way the mavs were playing i honestly thought they just got lucky, cause everything was dropping. But it seems like thats what it takes to win a championship. It takes EVERYONE not just the superstars being hot being very hot, just like last year even players like barea were coming up big this year you had players like chalmers and miller coming up very big. And worst of all the usual sly guys of OKC( sefolosha, cook) were no where to be seen.

    • Belizeboy says:

I agree. Even going back to the MJ days you had Kerr or Kukoc who made big three point shots. During the Laker 3peat Horry, Fox, and Fisher were threats. So it just goes to show you that a championship team cannot win if the TEAM is not playing well. You need all your players focused and ready to go. Even bench guys.

  41. armin halvadzic says:

This big three of Miami wins nothing if Battier,Chalmers or Miller don’t show up. At least one of them has to be great in order to be succesful. Everybody knew that and last year I didn’t see Miami shooters be this effective. No one ”blamed” them for the loss against Mavs. This year they did their job and you see the results. And if you look in to the future of nba there isn’t one team at it’s peak like OKC and Miami. Boston is gonna rebuild,San Antonio to,Lakers are close to start reboulding to. And who else is there. Bulls ? I don’t see them beating Miami if only Derrick Rose is scoring big points. Then there is Indiana who does not have a real star. They have allot of good players like George,Grander and Hibert but when you don’t have a leader on the court it is almost imposibile to beat a team like Miami, specially in the last minutes of the game when you don’t know who is gonna take over and score. On the west I don’t see any team beating OKC. There is young Utah,Huston,Denver…good teams but have the same problems as Indiana. No leaders. And then there are Deron Williams and Dwight Howard who I think could change allot of things if they chose wisely where to go. Somehow getting together would be the best thing for them. But I guess we have to wait and see what happens with them. But if things stay the way they are now in that case you can put OKC vs Heat in the finals for the next 4 years.

  42. Rune says:

  43. LOLakers says:

Eat it haters!!! The Heat are the greatest team of all time and Lebron is the greatest player of all time!!! This is our decade and we will win ten championships in a row!!! The only way anyone else will ever see a trophy is if Lebron takes pity on them and lets them see it!!!!!

    • Dizzy says:

Best team of all time? Best Player of all time? LOLOL They have won 2 championships, try to get 18 like the Celtics, then say something, OH and Michael Jordan is the best player.

      http://media.photobucket.com/image/recent/JordansBulls/MJsTrophies.png (Eat this : )

    • Alexies says:

Ok they played hard and won but don’t over react, “greatest team of all time and Lebron is the greatest player of all time!!!” common now. Mj’s Bulls would just killed this Miami team, Pippen & MJ would stop LJ and D Wade cold and Rodman would have eat Boch alive.

Well since there’s no place on this site to do it….and as an international Celtics/Bulls fan:

Congratulations to Miami Heat and especially LeBron James for his first title. Not to pull away the credit from other guys like Chris Bosh, Chalmers, Miller, Battier, Haslem, etc but no one was ever exposed to so much ridiculous hating so James, enjoy it, you deserved it.

    P.S.
Next year you loose to Celtics :P ;)

  48. LET GO HEAT!
It’s OK OCK, you played hard. youth had nothing to do with you losing.

  49. takeTheTruth says:

ridiculous, thanks to the nba . it is not an effort from the players, it was a good job from the refs… unbelievable. many friends dont watch nba games because of this idicouls and obvious manupulating from the refs or stern. so now i am one of them. nba will lose many fans now… and he bandwaggons here are to blind to see the truth ….
so see u never again here

    • AwwPlease says:

Please shut up and get outta here with that mess. You’re delirious and one of the many people that I stated on this site yesterday that would blame the refs and David Stern. Haters gonna hate! :)

Wow…..you are just like every other non-nba fan who say this is rigged. I bet if your team won you would have nothing bad to say about Stern or the refs. Keep your mouth shut and let this championship slap you in the face. You sore loser.

    • bigthings 2012 says:

lol when i first starting watching ball i thought sometimes like you cuz i din’t know nothing about pro ball, if you watch it for long enough you realize the refs do a amazingly good job considering the pace of the game and the nature of the rules. perhaps you are the one blinded by emotion and conspiracy that you want to see?
Congrats to the best team in the NBA of 2012 Miami Heat!!

    • heh says:

They gain fans, they lose fans. I honestly don’t think Stern cares as long as he gets his fat little fingers around his paycheck year after year. Truth will be told though, the bandwagon fans will come and go, but they may never gain the respect back from the TRUE basketball fans. I know I personally will no longer support the NBA and will be watching college hoops from now on.

I do believed that this is the time of team Miami to proved to all the critics that they’ve got..!..Am so happy that all the players played their bests as they can..We give also credits to the team Oklahoma, they’ve just only lost in a championship game but how they play is like a champion to me..They are also my team that i admired but maybe its not their time yet, they are still young and athletic and i knew that they will be a championship team in the future.!..Coach Erik you did great works and we knew that pressures are in you and thanks GOD for giving you strengths..You work hard until you proved that you are an amazing coach, a leader and a father to your players, you truly have a blood of PINOY like Bonifacio and Rizal, possibly Pacquiao..To all players like Miller – It’s now your time, Battier – you looked like a fully charged battery all the time in the playoffs, Chalmers – maybe people just ignore your efforts but now, you deserve a championship champagne, Haslem – you’re really a true warrior, Anthony – even though you play not like Melo but your defense is so tough, Cole – you play liked a Cool cat, Bosh – BosSingg, you’re the BOSS!..Wade – you will never fades..James – The new King of basketball, you will really LeB as a king, and to all Miami heat players and coaching staffs CONGRATULATIONS!..

  59. Jumpshot = fail says:

MILLER TIME!!!! I loled the whole game every time he hit a shot.

He can retire as a known as a great role-player, skilled, and a great shooter.

  60. Miller 7/8 treys were so amazing! He’s been so silent of the 1st 4 games yet blow out big in Game 5. Congratulations Miami Heat! A lot of Filipino joins the celebration for winning the championship this year. Congratulation to Erik Spoelstra the first ever Filipino-American and the first Asian-American Coach who win an NBA title in NBA history.

  61. JoeOKC says:

All Doubts erased. A well deserved championship for Miami. If they can maintain the same formula, we might see back-to-back trophies. Congratulations.

  64. googlevideo says:

Yes agreed. I was the same guy saying “Wade rhymes with Trade”, and “Miller is a bum”.

But I ate my words tonight. Those 2 bastards won the game for us tonight, and I am truly humbled,

    • Dizzy says:

Us? You play for the Heat?

      • Willem says:

@dizzy, you don’t know googlevideo, he’s is the guy sitting next pittman or so….;)But primarily cause of miller this was a blowout! kudos to him!

  65. cesar says:

YOOHOO!? are you there?!? you want to have a championship Ring ? Please consider joining Miami heat!!! Please think !!!

  66. $t@$on says:

Miller Thriller!!! Bravi! Congrats!!! The King (o’Cavs) is dead… Long live the King (o’Heat)!!!

  67. rafa says:

mr.stern and corrupted league made a champ who’s a chump.
hope refs got the rings too they worked hard for it.

    • basketballstudies says:

songs good except for the fact that they blowed them out….yea

    • TheRileylegacy says:

Yea… like 7 fouls on Miami in the first quarter is such an inside job. Harden was giving an Oscar worthy performance at forcing fouls in the first half. Enough with the conspiracy theories because if that invisible “mafia” of yours wanted to maximize profit, it would’ve been better for “them” to forcefully drag this series to game 7. Just admit that the better team won fair and square and OKC lost the will to win with 9 minutes left in the 4th game (plenty of time to catch up) as seen with players like Sefolosha, KD, and Westbrook hanging the towels over their heads with the look of hopelessness. They should make it back in the Finals soon now that they, like Miami’s big 3 know how it feels to make it so far yet end up losing the big game. Miller did his thing all broke and all and I must admit that I was one of the fans who did want to see him go mainly because I didn’t think he’d be able to play at all due to his injuries. I should’ve learned that lesson from keeping up with Zo’s career, but thank you for proving the vast majority of the Heat fans including myself wrong as you’ve complete your mission when it counted. As for the rest of the team, congratulations on your well earned ring! This should shut up all of the critics for awhile.

    • Bill128901 says:

ehm that must be the first game that the referees shot 52 % FG and 54 % on threes .. come on man, even scott brooks said himself “the beat us fair and square”

    • DopeBoy says:

awwww… u should get an award too. for being the best crying fan of OKC.

    • jonathan says:

Spoken like a true hater. This championship is for you and all the other haters. Thank you and keep on hating sore loser.

    • heh says:

Slightly agreed. The Miami Heat are not chumps they are a great team, but I think they got lucky this year… there were definitely better teams more deserving of rings. The NBA may get some more viewers from this, but they certainly lost the respect of many many more viewers. We now know for sure we can’t take the NBA seriously after the 5v8 in three series in a row for the Heat.

    • QuestionMark says:

Only Game in the whole series the refs helped Miami was in Game 2. terrible officiating, well both ways I guess, but most calls or non calls favoured the Heat. Other than that the Heat won fair and square.

  68. Sterling says:

@1:23 Did Spoelstra just give five to the ref? Did anyone else see that?

  69. ron52nge says:

Congratulation MIAMI HEAT…. collectively the teamwork works well this season…. :D

  70. Ashu says:

    Charlotte will win next year!!!!!!!!!!

  71. jar says:

congratulations to the Miami Heat! all i can say is that they are the better team. congratulations to OKC too for making the series an exciting and fun to watch…truly NBA benefited on this…

  72. chris says:

miami was just better from the rest.. they deserve the championship.

  73. SONAM BARFUNGPA says:

Hey hats off to John Schumann for his prediction of the Finals !

  74. CB4dWIN says:

A minority of Heat fans believed in Miller. Most wanted him out because he was hurting and wasn’t hitting shots so often. Just like how those fans were hard and cruel at Spo. Eventually he proved those fans wrong and got himself a ring.

The organization and most especially the team believed in him. Coach and the big 3 saw Miller’s effort, grit and battling through the pain/injuries choosing to stick with him. I’m glad he’s still with the Heat. Congratulations Miami the 2012 NBA champions.

    • yeta martin says:

Very well said, CB4dWIN! Miller did a great job…never lost his will to make Miami Heat the 2012 NBA Champion. Despite his physical pain and the emotional torture from cruel people, he showed everyone the true form of a sportsman. What an inspiration!

    • LeBronster says:

      Agree… 100%…

    • Real Fan says:

I’ve always believed in Miller. He was THE MAN in memphis. I knew what Miller was capable of. But I’ve always been a LeBron fan. I’ve been ridiculed and talked shxt to, year-in and year-out, bc he wasn’t able to get it done for whatever reason. I love the game to death and I’m very competitive so when LeBron doesn’t get it done or does, I’m affected by it. I never wanted to be a fan of somebody who already had rings, bc that was the easiest thing to do. It’s easy to like kobe bc he has 5, its different when they have 0 and you watch them become the star everybody grows to love and admire. Happy Bron finally got it done, now i don’t have to hear the shxt talk for atleast a few months lol

    • googlevideo says:

Admit it. You wanted him out too.

All I can say is that I am happily eating Humble Pie tonight.

    • DaVinkie says:

      Word.
Mike Miller has been amazing in his career, and I always believed he could still
be important. He did too, and he proved that by being important in the game that
mattered most. I hope he’s happy with his ring and that he wants to chase down
another one with the Miami HEAT next year.

    • Agree!

Every dog has his own day. Everybody in the heat organization believed in Miller – believed in themselves as a team. Now they are starting to roll over the opposition.

Miller is aching sick with his back pains but he delivered for his team. He is not sick when he is in court. Miller is the real SIXTH MAN of the season!

Unlike the declared SIXTH MAN at OKC. Harden – looks more like a sick man than Miller. The award of SIXTH MAN to Harden should be changed to the SICK MAN of the season. An award which is empty in the playoffs. Harden, hardened like a spent glue when it matters most for his team.

Kudos to the 2012 NBA Champions! Teamwork does for you!
