Sixers’ Williams Blames It On Lil’ Wayne

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – We’ve heard some pretty creative excuses for a team’s struggles in losses before, but 76ers guard Lou Williams turned in one of the all-time great “Dog-Ate-My-Homework” excuses after an overtime home loss to the Kings Sunday.

He suggested that his awful outing, he shot just 1-for-12 from the floor, had something to do with a trip to the Lil’ Wayne concert Saturday night:

Williams was at a loss for an answer as to why the team didn’t play well, although he did mention attending a concert on Saturday night.

“It was a combination of things, and it doesn’t seem we came out ready to play,” he said. “We took a chance last night by going to the Lil Wayne concert.”

Williams did not say which teammates attended Saturday’s concert at the Wells Fargo Center. “There were guys who went to the concert who played well, and guys who went who didn’t play well,” he said.

“For me it was a bad day at the office. Now we have to get ready for the next game.”

The Kings have already been eliminated from the Western Conference playoff chase. Meanwhile, the Sixers (losers of two straight) have passed up the struggling Knicks for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Williams struggled, but the one shot he did make was a 3-pointer at the end of regulation that sent the game to overtime.

yeah you right, they just put Lil Wayne so it can get some popularity, thats all, next they might blame it on the orange juice they drunk in the morning

The title is a little deceiving because if you see what they said they don’t blame Lil Wayne; They blame themselves for attending the concert.

Thats crazy blaming it on somebody…com’on Sixers concentrate on your games…I still put my bet on you guys if you face Boston in the 1st round…watch a Soundgarden or a Pearljam concert next time that gives you a spirit to win
