HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS — Brandon Jennings made his return from December foot surgery over the weekend, sliding back into his familiar No. 3 Bucks jersey.
But nothing fits like it used to.
Jennings isn’t happy with his minutes, per Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, and wants the world to know about it:
“If I am going to be having limited minutes, I might as well not be playing at all,” he said. “When I get my rhythm, I have to come out because the limited minutes I am in. But once I get going you know how I get. So it kind of took me out of my rhythm a little bit. So if I am going to be on limited minutes, I might as well just not play at all.”
Bucks coach Scott Skiles has his own take on things. And as you might expect, he’s not backing up an inch:
“I am just going by what I am told by the medical staff on how much he can play,” Skiles said. “It’s not an ideal scenario, obviously, but it is a situation where he does have to be built back up. He had foot surgery, it’s not like he just had a sore foot or something. They’re going to be a little more cautious and I totally understand that.”
This sounds like much ado about nothing. But for a Bucks team trying to gather itself for a second-half surge, they don’t need these sorts of distractions.
What we do like is that Jennings is eager to get back to his pre-surgery playing level, when he was averaging 18 points and five assists. Jennings has always been a fave here at the hideout, mostly because we love any guy that soaks up the hate from his critics and uses it as fuel to make those same critics look like fools.
The more we think about it, this just might be the fire the Bucks need to get going. Because before his injury Jennings seemed poised for a big sophomore season (that he talked about below):

I would just like to say, Brandon Jennings is a brilliant player and would be a valuable asset to any team in the league. However i’m not entirely convinced as to the reason given for his limited reason, I have a feeling his limited mintues partly due to the team not wanting to risk further injury etc, The bucks have been playing well with little earl at the point, When boykins has been given regular minutes he’s put up some very impressive numbers and more often thatn not has made the highlight reel, he has been a key player in many of milwaukees impressive wins this season such as the win over the lakers. Maybe a factor in Jennings limited minutes is the veteran Earl Boykins is playing some of the best basketball of his 11 year career, I for one would still love to see Boykins given regular minutes in the future when jennings is back to full health.
i agree tha the team doesnt want to risk mor einjury. i love brandon jennings he’s probably my favorite point guard in the league, but he has been known to be a little controversial. i love him and i ofcourse want him t play as much as possible, but to say that he shouldnt play at all? i think that was a little immature
Rose is way better
He doesn’t have to be the best to be one’s favourite player. My favourite point guard is Jose Calderon, and there isn’t a human being alive who would consider him a top 10 or even top 15 point guard in the league, but his passion to win is undeniable, and he dishes out some dirty passes, Rose is probably the best, no one can deny, but your two cents isn’t needed when someone is just stating Jennings (or anyone else for that matter) their favourite.

Earl boykins is very tAlented but not a starter. Brandon Jennings is the starter and the francise player for now. If he can improve with bogut and ilyasova. Also with some veteran help they can be a great force in the league for year. But their time has not come yet..

Artest for Jennings
that’ll be beautiful
Thatll also NEVER happen. You are saying that 8.7 ppg is with 18.7ppg and 5ast? LOL that’s why you guys aren’t GMs, because you would be trying ridiculous trades. You think Milwaukee would agree to that having Maggette, Mbah a Moute and Douglas-Roberts they would trade for another (though much better defensivly) forward? No…. they’re not
Boykins isnt playing at all at the moment. Its keyon dooling thats taking jennings ninutes
Naw, probably not.
He’s just anxious to get back at it. It does go to show that he still has some growing up to do but he will learn. This just sounds like the media hyping up a comment to get soothing interesting out of Milwaukee besides the beer and snow…
