Cuban tabs Heat NBA’s best team

DALLAS — During a visit to San Antonio this past weekend, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said the Mavericks were probably the best team in the league right now. It’s hard to argue that opinion, given the 11-game winning streak the Mavs own after Thursday night’s win over New Jersey.

I brought this up with Mark Cuban before the game as he pounded away on the Stairmaster. Surely, he has to be pleased with the progress of the hottest team in the NBA, one that battling San Antonio for the league’s best record. But are the Mavs, in Cuban’s biased opinion, the best around?

“Miami is the best team in the league right now,” Cuban said simply.

Really? The 15-8 Heat? Yes, Miami has rolled off six in a row to climb to third in the Eastern Conference. I asked Cuban to elaborate and he stuck to his guns that Miami was the class of the NBA.

Ok, Mark. Maybe he’s just gigging LeBron James and the SuperFriends. Maybe he’s just being Cuban. He’s bound to say anything at any time.

The Mavs already beat the Heat in late November and finish off the two-game regular season series Dec. 20 at Miami. Is this an early (another) Finals preview or just a meeting between the NBA’s top two clubs?

At least one of the teams is probably in that group. Just depends on which team and who you ask.

yes miami is best with there player D-wade, LBJ and CB. but i would give it to Boston the Championship this year
just see how good is there team work.
Its very different when you play a best of 7 game series . you need hardwork,
intensity and willingness to win the game.

Guys! Everyone will have their individual opinion, who is the best team right now. What matter most is that the team that would be healthy with its all players come playoff will have a better chance of winning the ring. But if by chance all 16 playoff teams are healthy to bet LA is get homecourt advantage. Since Pau Gasol came to LA, they became a complete all around team with 2 rings in 3 years!!! Watch out for Spurs, Jazz, Dallas and darkhorse OKC, they can stretch LA. In the East, Orlando need another big man to give more space to Howard and decrease dependence on 3s to give them wins! Miami…. they need to strengthen their interior and take care of boxing out to give them leverage on rebound. LeBron must play 3 and Wade 2 and need to trust their 1 in distributing the ball between them. But a healthy Celtics, who can match up in the East. Yes, they are in their last 2 years together competitively but they have the biggest heart among all the team in the East. They are willing to sacrifice stats to win!!! Just look at how they play, however is doing better in offense he likely get the most touches and collectively they all focus on defense!!! But if by chance Rondo improves in his outside shots, it gonna be great year for Celtics!!! Hey SHAQ!!! Better put all your heart out this year, another chance to get your 5th ring this year!!!

Like i’ve been saying the rest of that Miami team need to work harder im talking about their bench and honestly i liked that team better before Lebron and that other guy came by but i do like Wade but Lebron is too cocky for me and he has a problem everytime he makes it to the playoffs he chokes hopefully not this time but Boston is their biggest competition in the east right now that team is playing like they already belong in the finals which they will make and now that i think about it, it might be harder for the Lakers to 3 peat afterall i mean they have been some real surprising teams that i’ve seen so far and no shade at the Heat but i still don’t think they will win the Championship this season they might later on but not now.

  15. ITS OVER says:

wade’s already proved he carry and win with a team not even half the caliber as this miami team. all wade’s ever asked for/wanted was a decent team around him, and now he’s got more than a decent team. DO THE MATH… NBA CHAMPS

    • YEP says:

and that’s exactly why mark cuban knows miami is the team to beat. he personally witnessed a team in 2006 with literally half of the talent kick their ass in the finals. he knows it would only be foolish to ignore them now…

  16. thewisesthere says:

OK HATERS CHECK IT OUT…. IM TIRE OF ALL OF YOU SAYING THAT THE HEAT CAN NOT MATCH UP AT THE POINT GUARD AND CENTER POSITION……. I KNOW, ITS TRUE…. BUT WHO THE HELL CARES, IF WE GONNA DOMINATE COMPLETELY AT THE SHOOTING GUARD AND THE FOWARDS…. PLUS IF LEBRON IS PLAYING POINT GUARD THERE IS NO RONDO OR PAUL OR DERON WILL THAT COULD STOP HIM… COMMON…… WE ALL KNOW THE HEAT JUST NEED TIME TO DEVOLOP SOME CHEMISTRY AFTER THAT ITS DONE!!!!!!! OK SO ENJOY THE RIDE BUT WHEN THE PLAYOFFS COME THERE IS NO ONE STOPPING THE HEAT…. SO BOSTON, LAKERS, DALLAS, ETC… THE BEST ADVICE TO YOU AND YOUR FANS IS TO GET SOME VASELINE THAT WAY IT HURTS LESS JAJAJAJA GO HEATTTTTT!!!!!

  17. Tenki says:

I think Miami has the material to be the best team in the league. Their main players are having enough of the sacrifices that they’ve been talking about all summer long, and they should play a little bit more selfishly like the way they do now. LeBron and Wade are putting up near triple-doubles on a nightly basis, and Bosh, although still a bit soft on the floor, is pretty more consistent on the floor rebounding and playing more at the post. That being said, the season is still too early, and there are a lot of teams catching up fire, making the way up a lot harder. New York has found life in Stoudemire, Dallas has a more balanced approach with Dirk putting up numbers as usual, San Antonio has the “more with less” thing going on for them, and Boston is still at the top of the pecking order in the East.

I think this season should get more interesting coming into the All-Star break, where teams can still pull off some trades and deals that us fans might get caught unaware of. For example, what can Denver provide for the organization to make Carmelo Anthony happy and stay with them? Are the Clippers going to tinker with their roster to finally bring their team to the playoffs since the Larry Brown era? Would Chris Paul and the Hornets be considered a contender without having much of a lineup, just like Wade and the Heat a year ago? And are the teams willing to have some negotiations before the seemingly improbable lockout next season? All these things bring more excitement for me to watch more of this league. Basketball fans, stay tuned!

I’m a Heat fan obviously the heat won’t make it in the finals now… ( don’t know after a year) but i don’t see Lakers on finals also….. Sorry… my quick guess is Spurs or Mavs… Celtics or Magic…..Sorry Magic i’ll be giving that to Celtics… Neither Lakers or Magic had downgrade their roster from last season {except for Matt Barnes)… Farmar on Blake, Richardson on Barnes…. Spurs remain solid on their current roster so did the Celtics with addition of 2 O’neils… But hey Lakers are still a team to beat…I don’t like Paul Pierce… being so cocky and all…same on Kobe being cocky but he is a great player…I respect Kobe for being Kobe… Go Heat…..

  19. shallehalle says:

how can anyone even talk about Lakers??? when they play that bad this year, i really think if they played against Boston it would be at least a 20 loss. the Heat are getting much much better after mavericks loss. The team plays like a team, Wade a nd Lebron play like a team, Miller soon returns, then Haslem i think in February, and it going to be scary.

  20. lance says:

ok, straight up.. look it up on youtube.. quite a few of our superstar nba players are soul sellers.. lebron went to miami and it wasn’t for no reason.. money’s the root of all evil and cuban made such comments as far as the heat being the best because.. of the evil behind it.. on some of these major teams, you dont have coaches, players, owners, etc.. you have tv personalities and what it takes to make that money.. we’re spiraling children and LEBRON going to the HEAT with the number 6! theres something deeper it signifies.. mark cuban expresses his desire to be closer to the devil, him and all his millions..!! if you dont know wtf i speak of.. open your mind to learn, look up the 8 veils on youtube.. look up lebron and the illuminati.. dont just look, seriously pay attention, it’s real, tyvm for your time people.. TV altogether is blinding, ignore it and keep your sight..

ps why in the hell would mark cuban diss on his own team like that, and it be allowed? oh i know, HELL!

  21. Laker011 says:

The Heat have talent, but that doesn’t win championships. In the end it will be the two best teams that go head to head. So I have to agree with some people and say that it will be Celtics and Lakers in 2011. I’m a Lakers fan, but I think this season belongs to the Celtics if they play like they have been playing so far. However, the Lakers have determination to win another, so I won’t sell them short, but the entire Celtics team right now looks amazing.

    • Chris says:

I agree for the celtics but for the lakers at this moment the spurs, the mavs, the heat, the jazz and the bulls are better than them.
the problem with lbj like big Z said it’s that he’s getting bored very fast because the game is too easy for him, he has to find motivation. It takes 20 000 people screaming and insulting him to find some. And if lbj plays well, all the team play well. The heat have to play fast and to rebound, and lbj and wade can play pointguard at will, in fact they can play whatever position they want, especially lbj (with his size and strength). And the big 3 are not alone in this team, look at arroyo, chalmers, jones, big z and miller, haslem when they will come back. I don’t know if they’ll win this year but they are serious contender and I repeat I don’t think the lakers will win the championship this year, maybe you won’t even see them in the finals.

  22. marli says:

Oh Plz Miami is only based of Lebron and Wade they are the on;y one’s that actually do play on that team
chris bosh sucks as a Power forward he’s too soft and look like an zesty avatar they shouldn’t even call them
“The Big Three it’s more like The Big Two plus one. the only big three i see is in Boston. yeah i think the heat
will make it to the finals but will they win hell no, they still have to go through the Celts whom they have yet to beat.

  23. south beach says:

  24. hahah... says:

they lose to <0.50 teams like rockets

so stop saying miami is not good..
they won against jazz, magic, hawks big time…
and they just had a bad start.. now things are getting better…

  25. Ronald D. 52nge says:

If LAKERS and MIAMI will be in the FINAL.. We will find who is the best after all…

  26. john says:

Well everyone knows cuban likes to talk and he is… Right now Dallas is definitely better than the heat. Like so many have
said that the heat don’t have a good inside presence and they don’t. Ya Bosh can score but he’s not a very good defender. James and Wade are obviously great scorers!!! BUT They don’t have a running Team. And how often do running/ jump shooting teams win in the finals. Not often!! Look at the Suns, they never got that far. Two great players will never beat five good players. And Carlos Arroyo is gonna get worked in the playoffs like he does every night against the better point guards.
In the playoffs it always comes down to the best Defensive teams advancing and id say the heat will get to the second round and no further. Its gonna be Boston and the Lakers AGAIN!!!!!!!
    – The Lakers have the best player in the NBA in Kobe, Gasol, Artest, Old fisher, Odom, etc. This team is gonna keep making the playoffs till kobe retires.
    – The Celtics got more size with both Jermaine and Shaq. They may both be old but with Rondo’s great passes gives them easy layups/dunks. Peirce, Allen, and Garnett still can all score 20+ on any night. Than there is the great bench… Davis, Nate, Daniels, etc.
Needless to say what does the Heat have for a bench? Not much!! LA has a good bench like normal so its obviously gonna be the same as last yrs finals. The only diff is that the Spurs and Mavs are better this year and Orlando is worse and thats the makeup of the playoffs.

    • gary says:

Miami doesn’t have a good point gaurd, and their bench is laking (as of right now) but to say they won’t make it past the 2nd round is ubsurd. We can all see now that it will be Celtics and Miami for the eastern finals. That outcome however I can’t even say because even with the Celtics 2 wins over Miami it doesn’t mean much when playoffs come. Look at Cleveland last year who stomped on everyone and went down too easy.

  27. gary says:

The Heat are NOT the best NBA team.I am a Heat fan, and can’t wait to see how far they go, but as a whole they are not that great (yet). They have all the talent needed for a great team but their not as united as the Celtics or Lakers (yet, lol). We are seeing them get there however and unfortunatly we won’t be able to call them the best until they take the title. Also I hope they can redeem some credit against top teams by winning on the 25th. GO HEAT!

  28. james says:

yes i agree to cuban says that the miami now was the hottest..after the team meeting after they loss to memphis now they control the tempo..as you can see the total percentage of big 3 in points was always at 70+..right?but how about the other stat??LEBRON can pass D-wade can steal and how about this one BOSH can Rebound..so as you can see there stat now than before the history of 2 teams who battle the finals at 2006 will be happen again.Thats not so IMPOSSIBLE RIGHT FOLKS??

  32. Jack the Referee says:

I am thoroughly convinced that the Miami Heat will be a leading contender for the Championship but not this year. Not with Spoelstra at the helm. I’m sorry but Pat RIley is the sole reason that the Miami Heat matter. Micky Arison knows that and everyone who graces the palace on Biscayne Bay knows it as well…. Mark Cuban got a dose of good Cuban American cooking when the Mavs lost in 6… When the Heat develop the time honored tradition of chemistry and with the Hall of Famer Pat Riley at the forefront we’ll just say Celtics over the Lakers in 6…

  33. blahh! says:

The Mavs Are The Best Team In The NBA Right Now Not The Miami Heat

  34. Chris says:

Honestly this year the lakers won’t make it! They always have the best schedules in the finals and the NBA are pro Lakers…when they have recently the four losses streak, nobody speak about that but when the heat lose one game : everyone has to be fired and blablabla.
this year it’s not the same, with all the great teams and new great players combinations I think it’s over for the lakers.
Look the last game of the lakers, they struggle to beat the clippers…and for the moment they had only play with bad teams (except the jazz)…I don’t think bynum return will change too much thing…They are a team in decline…and the mindf**k of Phil jackson won’t change anything either.
Honestly when I see the next games of the heat, I see a win over the hornets, I see a win over the mavericks and I see a win over the lakers and maybe the lakers game will be the easiest…I know that the regular season isn’t the most important thing, that the playoffs are different, but sometimes the will is not everything…and now the lakers are not the only stacked team, look at the celtics, the spurs, the heat, the bulls, the mavericks…
and I was just wondering why nobody speaks about the spurs? They are actually one of the best team and it’s like they don’t even exist???
I think few people want an other Lakers/celtics final, it’s too boring…they want some change and to see new stuff!!
For the celtics, I think it’s a great team by now, but a lot of players are getting too old…so they still have 2 or 3 years to make something and after they’re done…what rondo will do alone when garnett, pierce, allen and shaq will retire?
For the lakers, fisher is out and kobe is not as good as he was in the past.
people want to see some change! Honestly it will be good for everyone!

  35. KingCobra25 says:

CUBAN IS A GENIUS. HE KNOWS THE HEAT WILL DO VERY GOOD IN THE PLAYOFFS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE TWO BEST TRANSITION SCORERS wADE AND LEBRON. The Lakers don’t suck at all because they have a very great linup with kobe, gasol, fisher and odom and when bynum comes back people will respect the lakers. Today this pakistan’s idiot named Ahmed aka brainless boy thinks the heat will lose so many games when he is the fan of the timberwolves. the heat will kill this season. Go HEAT! GO HEAT! GO HEAT!

  36. celtics87 says:

    * in the 1/2 court. Yes, their 2 best guys are faster than most guys with the ball, but they aren’t going to force turnovers every other time down court. Some people will point out the fact that against the Jazz they had a 2 on 4 break after a made basket… but that was just a terrible job getting back by Utah… the “old” and “washed up” C’s didn’t & will not be allowing that, and I’m pretty sure the other smart teams( Lakers, Spurs, Mavs,) won’t either. But, anyway everyone is entitled to their opinion, just know that there are people that actually pay attention to the ins & outs of the games and not just watching the highlight shows on ESPN & NBA TV.

    • LOL says:

YEA, and YOUR obviously ONE of them LOL You can see the hate in your words. But thats ok, hate away. It won’t stop the Heat from rising. Sorry bout it.

  37. celtics87 says:

you guys are funny. keep on licking the Heat’s testes’. Question… have you seen the teams the “Super friends” and the other guys have been beating up on? With the exception of the Jazz, who still haven’t gotten it together themselves, and the Magic who had a throwaway game. Mark Cuban and his sarcasm, it is almost as funny as some of these people on here. Like this guy King Cobra… the Heat have the size, the speed, the talent… really? why is it they are getting gang banged in the paint night in night out, even against the scum of the NBA? yeah, it’s nice when they get a deflection on defense and get a Sports Center highlight alley-oop, but there is more to the game than just highlights. and to say the Heat have the most loyal fans, is ignorant, maybe you haven’t seen all the empty seats, except for when the Magic, or Celts are in town, lol. 1 more thing, for the people bashing the Celts… “aside from Pierce the big 3 are washed” > really, Pierce is my guy but is not the defender he once was , and I would say Ray is more in shape than guys 3-4 years in , and still hitting shots many guys dream of. KG fully recovered from his knee surgery, last year he didn’t have it. pay attention, a la last night, KG out-running the athletic 76ers, and has his bounce again. Furthermore, C’s are still w/o Delonte, a good perimeter defender, and J Oneal, and Perkins, Shaq in & out the lineup… we are already clogging the paint playing good team defense… team defense, so when the bigs come back, how do you think guys are gonna be doing the highlight dunks/lay ups? The Heat are already a jump shooting, mediocre jump shooting team in the 1/2 so…..

  38. D I N O says:

It’s really premature talking about who the best team is in the nba right now. The Spurs are old, Miami needs a solid point guard and center to be championship-caliber, and the Mavs? I guess they could reach the Conference Finals. In the end,it’s still going to be the Lakers vs the Celtics. They have what it takes to win the title again. More that talent, they both have heart and soul. That’s my take.

  39. jone says:

the lakers is a joke… every team in the nba has played elite teams… some more then others… but the lakers? tell me who have they played? the strongest team that they have played against is the nuggets… and they split those games… what a butch of crap… the nba are again trying to get the lakers to have a good start… every year its that way.

  40. LeGay says:

Even if the Heat wins it all. So what? Those three guys hate competition! They’re a bunch of “over competitive” players who hate real competition.

  48. Curtis says:

If and when the Heat start running more there are not very many teams that will be able to keep up with them. I think they are starting to figure that out. With not really great bigs on the Heat squad they need to up the pace and get baskets off before other teams bigs can get settled in their defenses. It seems they have struggled most during games trying to run a half court offense. They are not set up for that.

  49. rafael collado says:

I think the Heat are beginning to learn how to play with eachother , and when they master that , no team will stop them.

  50. AC says:

I think the Mavs have always been one of the top teams as far as talent goes. They can never seem to do anything with it though. Never could figure out why and obvioulsy it’s been a mystery to them as well. Too bad really because time is running out.

As a basketball fan, I’d really love to see the Heat do well in the playoffs. I’ve never witnessed a team in sports who have gained this many haters so fast in all my life. I really want to see them prove 95% of the world wrong.

  51. LAKER BACK 2 BACK CHAMPS says:

NBA FINALS is gona be LAKERS v.s BOSTON. Sorry bandwagon Miami fans it isn’t gona happen for you guys any time soon. Miami isn’t the best team Mark Cuban just dumb! Dallas will run out gas same with the Spurs. I can almost promise Dallas doesnt even get out the first round of the playoffs! Look not being a hater but Miami doesnt have a point guard or a center three players dont make a championship. LAKERS have a full team same as BOSTON no matter how much i hate them there team is stacked! Phil Jackson gona end hes legendary coaching career with another 3PEAT as for Miami well until they make a good team an not just three guys sorry Queen James it isn’t gona happen for a while!

  52. clint says:

Dallas is a good team. The spurs is a good team. Utah is a good team. The lakers is a great team. The black mamba and the spanish giant will be there at the end cashing in another ring. For the last couple of years those other teams that i mentioned are not doing anythng new. They playing good now but they will be knocked off when it counts the most!… Wake up people….

  53. Law064 says:

The Celtic’s are the best team as of now and on a 9 game streak. The Mavs are on a 11 game streak. I think Cuban is just trying to get the attention off of his team and their streak. I agree with Real Talk even with the Heat getting better I doubt if they can beat the Celtics. The Spurs are on a roll as well and are playing great. I don’t know if anyone’s watching the NBA if they say the Heat are the best that’s not real. They don’t even have the best record but do have 2 of the best players in the league but that’s not the best team. @DBBJ I guess your optimistic about Cuban’s statement but he’s being a smart azz seriously.

  54. GoLA says:

common guyz, the season is just starting. it will be the (Purple & Gold) and Leprechauns in the end. peace out!! :)

  55. I dont know if the Heat are the best team now but come playoff time they defiantly will be the most dangerous. I don’t think anyone can say the Spurs aren’t playing the best right now. They have the best record in the league at 18-3 and their core of Duncan, Parker, Ginobili and Jefferson are all on the same page.

Agreed Celts 2011. The c’s are on a mission and NOBODY’S going to stop them. Miami is playing better but I wouldn’t say they’re the best. Cuban is being Cuban putting pressure on Miami or their players. Even with them being better now they still can’t stop the Celtics. @Kingcobra 25 the warriors will be a joke come playoff time but the bulls will be better than Miami. I think they can even beat Miami in a 7 game series how can you say the Bulls will be a joke.

Mark Cuban is an apprentice of the zen master.

  60. heat101 says:

    ohh my!! love cuban, genius,

  61. Nestor says:

    Cuban is an @$$ ho

  62. Tenki says:

Cuban is wise enough to deflect the attention that the Mavs are having now, considering the fact that they are the hottest team in the league. I’d reckon he learned it from Phil Jackson.

  63. ettk45 says:

I love the Heat. Been a season ticket holder for many years.

Any one who doesn’t think that the Celtics are the team to beat isn’t paying attention. In my opinion, at least.

    Go Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  64. hahah... says:

    the heat are the best!!
you all just jelous because the 3 kings earn more than what you earn your entire life…

    • Jaybow says:

What 3 kings? Zach Randolph is playing better than Chris Bosh, who is essentially invisible on the court. They can earn all the money in the world, but they’ll never earn a championship. Nuff said!

      • J_wood23 says:

ya thats pretty funny man but ur stupid if you dont think out of 6 years of contract and 3 kings dont win a championship you got another thing comin. Also Bosh is doing pretty well i know zebo is pretty good but bosh will come out on top when him an wade and lebron win a championship.

  65. Cool LJ says:

I hope it is not a Dejavu for Mavericks I always see them on the top of the standing but always failed to reach the final.

  66. Kofi Kyei says:

Good one from Cuban only few guys know what those three talents can bring, more than a chip if that’s u guys problem, I bet Miami will be a basketball power house and a supremacy, Thank God for putting those talents together, King James for life

  67. 305 allday says:

funnnny!!!!. I guess Mark has not gotten over his teams ’06 finals lost to the heat. But I would like to give Mark credit for being honest in revealing that he tried to get LeBron over the summer, then at the same time being a Hypocrite about
Dan Gilbert being “HIS FRIEND”. What I also find hilarious; is all these teams talking S*** about the heat’s BIG 3 and if the Big 3 wanted to sign with their teams they would have cleared there rosters to make it Happen. Who wouldn’t want three 20+ year old superstars on their team for the next five years.

I think NBA should pay the heat $$$ for the making the Regular Season so entertaining. When was the last time TV ratings for regular season games this high!!! Every road game for the Heat SOLD OUT!!! I’m just saying the numbers don’t lie!!!

Finally, everybody making a big deal about regular season wins & streaks. When has the last time the team with the best regular season record win the championship. all that matters to me is Playoff & Finals wins!!!!

    • Pete says:

You think Boston would have cleared out Perkins, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Glen Davis, Nate Robinson, Shaw and Jermaine Oneal to sign the Lebron, Wade and Bosh?

Not a chance in hell…they already have a champtionahip caliber team with untouchable chemistry, a title and the second best record in the league (only by half a game).

I could say the same about the Spurs dumping Parket, Richardson, Manu and Duncan…or the Lakers dumping Kobe, Fisher, Odom, Gasol and Bynum.

The only teams who would dump their rosters to sign those three guys are teams who don’t have a legitimate shot at a champtionship as it is – only exception maybe being Orlando, because they have (on paper) got champtionship potential, but don’t have that type of untouchable hall of fame roster power then the former three have. Outside of Howard, pretty much anyone else in Orlando is expendable.

Wade and Carmello Orlando with Howard…now THAT would be a combination!

      • Please Pete, Please... says:

Hahahahahahahahhahahahahah…other than Paul Pierce who maybe has one more good year left. Garnett and allen are done. And the rest of thos bums were done before your team was desperate enough to pick them up. Yah Boston will win some games because they have been together for so long and have three good players who are probably the most competitive players next to Kobe Bryant that form a solid foundation…but how many championships have they won again??? what’s that? One? Yah, you better buy the DVD because that’s the only time you’ll see them raise another trophy!

      • ABL says:

Everyone needs to remember that NBA PLAYOFF basketball is about matchups! Miami should win a lot of regular season games, but come playoff time, they still have no center and no point guard. They don’t match up with Boston or Orlando for a seven game series.

Remember last year when Cleveland and Orlando lost to Boston. Why?? Matchups!! And bye the way, if you really think Garnett and Allen are washed up, check the stat sheet.

Finally, last time I checked that one title for Garnett, Pierce, and Allen is one more than Lebron and Bosh have

      • Aw Heck No says:

AWWWWW HECK NO! Man. If you have not noticed the heat have a lot of players that play more than one position. You say we have no point guard. Carlos Arroyo has the lowest Assist-Turnover ratio in the league. And plus Lebron and Wade are gonna be playing that position sometimes. And Centers we may be somewhat average in but we do have a great defensive center in Joel Anthony. And Big Z is a center that can play around the key and can shoot. And dont forget Miami blew-out Orlando early in the season and that Miami Heat team isnt nearly as good as they are now. And they are only gonna get better. You got James Jones knockin down 3s like crazy. And when Mike Miller and Udonis comes back its gonna be all hell. The Celtics may been together for a good number of years but they are way too aged to be taken seriously. KG, and Ray Allen need to retire soon. And Paul Pierce is a lil flopper. lol. When its all said in done. This real be a Miami Heat – Los Angeles Lakers Finals matchup. And I cant just give it to one team because they always play competitive against each other. It should be a great series.

    • LakeShow says:

The team with the best record won the championship in 2007-2008, or do you not remember the Boston Celtics beating the Lakers??

    • Mister T says:

In 2008, the Green Team had the best record for most of the season 66-16, I think. That record culminated into a championship. I agree 305 allday, the regular season record is only good for playoff seeding but that alone doesn’t guarantee a ring (Can you say the 07 Mavs, the 09 and 10 Cavs). The only thing the Heat has to do is win games. That’s all. NOBODY wants to see the Celtics in the first or second round in the EAST until it’s necessary. The Celtics are what the Heat are trying to be like. I am a Heat fan, but I think these guys need to just focus on getting better and have their $h!t ready for the playoffs. The 06 Heat won a championship with only 50 wins. All I’m saying is this, “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”. That’s what made these guys assemble this team the world has come to know as the Miami Cavaliers (Toronto get’s no love). Anyway, LETS GO HEAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. Ahmed Arjdane says:

Mark Cuban is trying to keep the pressure and lights on the Heat (which in my opinion is becoming a famous move around the NBA now), but He, and all those who do the same, forget that this is exactly what the Heat needs to win games, and even more, to get used to the playoff pressure, learn and improve faster than any other team…
They’re helping the Heat build more immunity to this atmosphere, much like a person gone through a disease in her childhood resists better in the adulthood.

    • KingCobra25 says:

Ahmed Arjdane do you know no one cares about the disease talk. MARK CUBAN IS RIGHT THE HEAT IS THE BEST TEAM BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE PLAYERS,THE SPEED, THE SIZE AND THE LOYAL FANS. THEY HAVE IT ALL. TONIGHT THE TWO TEAMS THAT WILL FACE OFF ON CHRISTMAS DAY AND THAT IS THE LAKERS AND HEAT. bULLS AND WARRIORS WILL BE A JOKE COME PLAYOFF TIME.

      • DMAVS says:

SIZE??you call damp and big z size hahaha thats histerical..get your facts straight man thats what they need if you watched their games you would know they get pounded on the boards

      • chris says:

lol im a heat fan but when ignorant heat fans speak it tends to make us all look bad. to the rest of the intelligent basketball community, disregard these statements and their first grade logic of why they will be true lol. The heat will contend for a ring this year (sorry boston but in our first ever game together we played terribly against yall AND STILL ONLY LOST BY 8). Though our lack of size and physicality in the middle will hurt us against some teams, I feel we will make up for it in our ability to explode for points while locking down on defense at the same time. Right now we rely too much on a good shooting night from Wade or Bron but when Miller comes back, he can get them going by hitting open shots

  69. benedict72 says:

They should be starting to gel better comes january and specially when haslem and miller comes back from injury. For me it doesnt really matter if they will not win the title these year.As long as I could see wade and Lebron doing alley ops and flashy dunks finish that all worth it.But of course if they win that would be lovely.

  70. Phoenix0910 says:

Gotta love that guy Mark Cuban..gassin the heat like that lol. What a genius
