OKLAHOMA CITY — Kevin Durant admitted he’s all over Twitter, so of course he heard that recent Dwight Howard proclamation. Asked who was better between LeBron James and Durant on Dan Patrick’s radio show, Dwight said:
“I’m gonna go with Kevin.”
Durant was flattered. The youngest scoring champ in league history is also tapping on the breaks on that heady comparison.
“As a competitor, as a guy who’s real with myself, I don’t think I’m on LeBron’s level yet,” Durant said. “I’m working, though.”
The MVP of the Worlds said improved ball-handling and post-up skills were at the top of his summer to-do list. As for what would define success for the Thunder this season, KD gave the most un-Iverson of answers.
“More great practices than bad one,” he said. “I think if we can say that we’ll have a great year.”

Players acknowledge players. No matter what phony names fans tag a certain player with, their colleges, compatriots, and their competitors KNOW who is good, great, and grand. The only thing that Durant is, that LeBron has to learn, is…classy.
that boy has some serious class.
Yeah because we all kno dat CLASS is what really WINS championships right?lol
hey! LeBron James is more BETTER than Kevin Durant.
my top 5 NBA:
1.LeBron James
2.Kobe Bryant
3.Dwyane Wade
4.Dwight Howard
5.Kevin Durant
thats it!
Howard in you top five? Are you crazy?
Real Top Five
L. James
K. Durant
K.Bryant
D,Wade
C.Anthony
1. kobe
2. lebron
3. kevin
4. wade
5. slot opened
Why does everyone have Wade so high? Melo scores and rebounds better than him. Howard deserves to be on there for sure, Top 5 is
1: LeBron James
2: Kevin Durant
3: Kobe Bryant
4: Dwight Howard
5: Carmelo Anthony
I’ll take 20 points, 14 boards and 3 blocks (Howard) over 26, 5 Boards and 4 assists any day (Wade), same with 28 and 7 (‘Melo) over 26, 5 and 4
if healthy chris paul deserves to be on this list.
orlando won 59 games off dwight howard’s rebounding, defense and playing off his double teams to shoot wide open 3′s. take him off that team and they might be a lottery team. take melo off the nuggets and i’m sure chauncey can find a way to win som games with jr smith, nene, kenyon martin and chris anderson. carmelo got a huge name, but go to basketball reference and compare his stats the last few years to danny granger and they’re almost dead even. melo can be replaced, howard cant.
nothing would be iller than if the thunder beat the heat in the championships
haha.. have you heard what james had to say about his critics? by these words, LBJ seemed more mature than those greats like MJ, Magic and Charles Barkley who were so edgy with his decision this summer. and a lot more mature than the pathetic and selfish Mark Cuban..
coming out of school no 1 had more pressure on their shoulders.hes been compared 2 every superstar mj, kobe, now durant. ill give u the first 2 guys & i luv kd’s game but dont he got 2 win a playoff series b4 hes compared 2 mj? dwight need 2 shutn up & worry bout y vince carter not producing he was compared 2 kobe & mj way b4 Bron got n the league.
STOP! comparing, STOP! asking to the people who don’t knw the RIGHT ANSWER!
this are the RIGHT!:

michael jordan is the greatest nba player of all time………………..
Ok Impossible, I’m going to have to make an assumption or two according to your post:
1) English is your second language (if so, congratulations on trying to conquer another tongue), but you have a little more yet to learn about syntax.
OR:
2) You are Japanese (I swear that looks like translated signs I’ve seen in Japan)
OR:
3) You are about 5 or 6 years old (if so, why would we listen to you?)
In cases 1 & 2 you are entitled to your opinion, no matter HOW wrong it might be.
In case number 3 congrats on trying to get your point across but you should go back to mommy now.
(Notice I left out a 4 possibility: That English IS your primary language AND you are above the age of 6, in which case…I truly feel for you)
err what?
my top 5 nba:
1-lebron
2-kobe
3-wade
4-carmello
5-durant
Do you know English? Are you attempting to state that the comparison of these aforementioned players is close or that any sort of discussion is closed? Please, I implore you to head back to High School to get your diploma. Please pick up a book once in a while.
By the way, one cannot be MORE BETTER. Better already implies that.
U sum type of Lawyer or somthing?Y all da BIG words r u making a comment or Teaching.?
Lmao @ Impossible. But come on guys, lets give him a break. He obviously does not speak English very well, and in the end, when we put players in order of skills and talent, it’s only our opinion.
Anyway here’s mine
1 – Kobe
2 – D Wade
3 – Lebron
4 – Carmelo
I won’t go any further than that and I definitely won’t include Durant……….yet. I don’t doubt that he’ll have another good year, but I want to see how good, once teams have adjusted their defense.
Oh and by the way, D Wade is just as skilled as Lebron, but has a killer instinct which Lebron has yet to develop. Again, MY opinion.
impossible is for you to spell correctly i think
“more” BETTER? learn your english bro
Lebron > Kobe
Michael >&≠ Kobe
Lebron ≃ Michael (stat-wise)
Tracy > Kobe (b4 injuries)
Kevin = Carmelo
Wade = Lebron
Wade > Kobe
Kobe > Durant
Carmelo = Arenas
Deron > Chris Paul
Arenas > Paul
Nash > Paul
Rondo = Paul
Rondo > Kidd (right now)
Darren Collison = the future
Stephen Curry = go down as one of the greatest of all time
John Wall = Tyreke Evans = overrated
Duncan >> Dirk
Shaq (career) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dwight
i agree with curry, i hope to see big things from that young man. if chris paul could stay healthy I think he’s at the top of a splendid crop of point guards. deron williams is great, but chris paul has the ability that steve nash also has to turn average players into allstars (david west, tyson chandler). and he’s solid on the defensive end, an end where steve nash doesnt participate.
Yow .. Kobe 81 point game it’s Very Very History!..Kobe hold the most 3-point record wich the 3 biggest star of Miami can’t even Broke it
Kobe has 5 rings and only Wade has a ring on the big 3 of them…And Since kobe entered NBA..many has expext that he will be next to MJ..or be the Best…… He has 5 Championship rings and 1 more ring he will past Michael Jordan…Yes Jordan has 6 Rings but did he score 81? or Made 12 3-pointers? Kobe has more History and legacy that People Can’t Break…With Wade,Bosh and James 1 of them will not be able to make it a MVP!.. or either 1 of them can’twill not Make the level of Kobe Bryant..With James that has no Ring,A Bosh that wan’ts to find his Comfortable team and a Wade who need his friend to capture a dream…the big 3 of Miami is gonna be Big 1 and that is the MVP finals if they Win…..
But for me Lakers will become succesful from there Quest for a 3-peat ..Kobe 2time 3peater Baby!!!
MJ-the greatest
kobe-top 15..maybe all time
his 81 point game doesnt compare to mj’s 5 mvp’s and 6 finals mvp’s. jordan was the undisputed stud in all six of those championships, kobe was definately the number 2 guy for 3 of his, shaq was unreal in those days. and lkobe ost 2 other finals. no comparison between the two,
if you want to use rings to prove the greatness of a player then robert horry got the edge on jordan and kobe with 7. and we know he’s not their caliber of player. and kobe is not the caliber of michael jordan, but who is?
Frankly in my opinion D wade is my favorite player. I have never been a fan of lebron because of the hype put on him and staus before he has really proved anything. D wade has won a ring n everyone said because of shaq…ok wateva but they had a mediocore team and were down in the series and d wade lifted them….lebron had shaq also with a just bout the same talent as d wade champ team n yet couldnt capitalize so to me d wade is better….but together plus bosh if gel right they can be a dynamic powerhouse.
kobe bryant is not even close to jordan, stats, MJ won the scoring title 10 times, 5 time MVP of the league, 6 time MVP of the finals, kobe wasn’t even the best player on the floor the first three rings SHAQ was. kobe best game 81pts 2 assist,4 rebounds, MJ 69 pts, 18 rebounds, 9 assist, three steals. oh yeah mj career pts 30.5 best ever.
As of now please be true in all what we see in real nba. Here’s the reality of nba games and its players.Let’s face it guys this one is so true.
Face the fact: Kobe is still arguably the no 1 player in the list.
Reason: Not only because he had 5 rings on his fingers but?
1. Kobe has learned to master the game of basketball.
2. He has the most untouched ego in the nba which makes him unstoppable and fits him well.
3. Kobe is by far the most skilled player in the nba. ( so skilled than mj)
4. Kobe is fearless when the game is on the line.
5.Kobe is so competitive.
6. He can manage any pain or illness whether he’s on court.
7. He truly fits as the balck mamba
Lebron / Wade is still second or tied at second. The truth is both have different talent but as we can see the talks on them are vice versa. Next week its lebron’s highlight, this week it wades dominance.
Weird but true:
Lebron:
1. The most athletic player in the nba today.
2. A monster type of player that a team can have.
3. On his mind ( he wants to play all-around game)
4 All around games were improved
5. He’s a showtime player but not consistent until reaching playoffs ( still nervous & scared to take the last shot)
Wade
1. He’s the most underated superstar today.
2. He’s energy is tremendous ( its he used steroids but not)
3. Wade is genius player quiet but explosive.
4. Second to kobe as the most fearless and cold blooded player in the nba.
5. second as the most humble player to durant.
Durant
1. Emerging superstar
2. Scottie Pippen physical attributes
3. Silent type but explosive
4. Discpline when it comes to work ethics
5.The most humble player in the nba.
6. Thin but productive.
u know nothing about nba brother..kobe is not even the greatest laker..r u kidding..ur funny bro..MJ is the greatest..

from what i’m seeing, it looks like jordan has more history than kobe.. don’t compare if you dont have any basis.. all you know about jordan is his 6 nba titles… I’m seeing a bias opinion regarding kobe and jordan.. by the way, jordan is the mvp of the 6 nba titles.. Did kobe won 5 mvps from his 5 nba titles?? I think shaq has 3 mvps from that championship.. 5-3=? get the picture?
i agree, 5 regular season mvp’s and 6 finals mvp’s for MJ make a comparison between the two seem ridiculous.
1. Kobe (Don’t need to explain why)
2. Lebron James
3. Wade
4. Melo (only reason James and Wade are ahead of these two is because they have much better defense)
5. Durant
if you go by who the hottest players are at the moment durant would have to be ahead of wade and carmelo. scoring champion, number 2 in mvp voting and put the young team on his back in the fiba championships, he has to be considered one of the top 3 players in the world. carmelo has a big name, but you compare his numbers to danny granger over the past 2 or 3 years and they are almost dead even in every category, and nobody would consider danny granger a top 5 talent. got to go with dwight howard, unparalleled with his rebounding and defense. take him away from that 59 win orlando team and they are in the lottery.
Best players of all time below, honest truth, I mean of all tymmEEE!!
LAUREN JACKSON
ANDREW BOGUT
PATTY MILLS
nahh seriously, it’s KOBE!!… thats without being biased. PPLE just need to get of their favourite players you know what and just acknowledge that Kobe is the best. He has proved it for many years………. Simple as that.
And im not even a Lakers supporter.
jordan at age 32, 3 rings
kobe bryant at age 32, 5 rings
enough said.
Enough said.what have u proveing?
the problem with people thinking Kobe is better than MJ, is because most of them didnt grow up in the times when the could watch MJ career, but now they get to see kobe everynight on tv, and the game is much different than it was 10-15 years ago. Back than if the refs didnt see blood they wouldnt call a foul, but now a days, if you look at kobe the wrong way they call a foul on you!! MJ barely got to the foul line, but players now a days scores half there point at the foul line. IJS
@WILDD:U ever hear of da JORDAN RULE?ask someone bout it who may kno N U’ll C Y i can’t agree wit dat.GO BULLs.
yea he is way off on that one. i’m positive jordan got to the foul line more than any player during his generation.
Top 5 players of ALL TIME:
1. Michael Jordan
2. Oscar Robertson
3. Bill Russel
4. Wilt Chaberlain
5. Lauren Jackson?!?!?
[...] Durant going with LeBron OKLAHOMA CITY — Kevin Durant admitted he’s all over Twitter, so of course he heard that recent Dwight [...] [...]
guys, why don’t we just ask Phil Jackson who better between MJ and Kobe? Kobe himself is placing himself above MJ WHEN HE WORE JERSEY #24.PITY ON THAT GUY trying so hard but not even getting close to MJ’s Legacy.
@ 3peat:
MJ: 5 MVP’s
Kobe: 1?!?
enough said.
Math: 24>23
NBA: 24<23
Math: 2 divided by 4 = 1/2
Math: 2 divided by 3 = 666!!!
JORDAN IS GOD!!!
@ MICHAEL:
I don’t know what you are smoking, but whatever it is, I don’t want that. Why would Kobe copy every aspect of Jordan’s game? Why would LeBron petition to wear number 6 this season, and retire MJ’s number 23 in the whole NBA?
Kobe is just nostalgic in his #24 jersey. please refer to my post above for further details.
BTW, Jerry West has more 3-point plays than Kobe, which makes the black mamba a sissy.
my top 5 NBA superstar:
1.L.JAMES
2.K.BRYANT
3.D.WADE
4.K.DURANT
5.C.ANTHONY
@3peat
Man your right! but your statement is so vague.. Kobe looks good in that statement… but the truth is that Shaq did most of the work in his 3 nba titles.. enough said huh.. LOL.. looks like you are a very bias laker fan
Kobe is great…but if you place Lebron on the Lakers, they become an even better team than they are now. Period. Kobe is still a shoot first player. He is no the competitor Jordan was. He’s close, but he simply isn’t. He plays in a different basketball culture and it’s simply impossible to re-create competitors like Isaiah, Magic, Jordan and Bird in today’s NBA. Different time, different dynamics…but Kobe comes the closest. In that respect, I rate Kobe #1.
But remember, just three years ago, Kobe wanted OUT of LA. He was desperate. He knew he would not get out of the second round. His team sucked. And he could not make them better. BAD TEAMS do not win in the NBA. Lebron James has already proven himself. He had nothing to prove. The IDIOT skip bayless says lebron ‘admitted he could not do it alone’ by going to Miami….HOW STUPID!!! Who CAN do it alone??? Did Kobe NOT admit he couldnt do it alone by demanding a trade out of LA before the 08 season?!?!
If it was not for the leadership of Derek Fisher and having, arguably, the second best big man in the NBA in Pau Gasol, Kobe can forget it. No championships folks. NONE. So lets not forget what Lebron has done. Taking a sorry Cleveland team to the NBA finals in 07. Literally CARRYING them past the Detroit Pistons who had won a league best 66 games. The man had ONE bad big game over the course of his entire playoff career. He does not choke in big games. Kobe on the other hand has given up numerous times. But winning makes people forget everything. Dont forget what Lebron has ALREADY done. Two MVP’s and MONSTER playoff numbers that have simply not been enough. His TEAM SUCKED in Cleveland…PERIOD. People compare Lebron joining with Wade and Bosh, to Jordan joining Magic and Bird. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? There is no debate that Lebron has proven himself to be the better player of the three. They ARE NOT his competition. The only competition to Lebron is Kobe and Durant. If he would have went to the Thunder or Lakers…you could make that comparison. Otherwise, its STUPIDITY.
CAREER PLAYOFF AVERAGES:
Lebron James 29.3 points 7.3 assists 8.5 rebounds 45% FG (and over 50% in last two years playoffs)
Kobe Bryant (excluding his first 3 to be fair) 28.4 points 5 assists 5.3 rebounds and 45% FG and never having shot over 50%
CASE CLOSED.
Best 5 in the NBA
1. Lebron
2. Durant
3. Kobe
4. Wade
5. Tie: Howard (Defense wins), Chris Paul
I cannot put Carmelo Anthony in this list…he simply lacks the ‘IT’….there is something a little too laid back about his game. As talented as he is, he must play with a player that is better than him, i.e. Chauney Billups or a Darren Williams, or a Chris Paul, Dwane Wade. But He cannot lead a team. All those above are LEADERS.
