Too Much Information?

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – There’s never a dull moment when Minnesota general manager David Kahn is involved.

Toss in a live microphone, a volatile topic (Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley and his struggles, on and off the court, in Miami) and you have the potential for some serious fireworks — Kahn delivered the goods on a Minneapolis radio show Thursday.

Love him or hate him, Kahn knows how to stir up attention … you might remember his courtside chat with NBA TV’s Matt Winer & Chris Webber from Vegas (above).

As Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel illustrates here, Kahn was actually defending Beasley.

But the most sensational sound bite is what will garner the most attention:

“He’s a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana and has told me that he’s not smoking anymore,” Kahn said, “and I told him that I would trust him as long as that was the case.”

We’re guessing Kahn shared a little too much information about Beasley, stuff we’re sure Beasley didn’t want the world to hear about on a radio show, or anywhere else for that matter.

It’s too late now.

The GM shouldnt have thrown beasley under the bus like that. But you never know with this public “outing” maybe he can get his act together and play up to his potential!

Beasley was smoking marijuana? What a shock! LOL. Big deal. Wasn’t it common public knowledge around the league and sports world in general? I don’t think Kahn deserved to be fined for that, especially since he was defending one of his own players.

Small minded people like Kahn need to somehow try to bring others down to make themselves feel better. Just because you have money and a powerful position for work doesn’t mean you can’t feel little inside.
Thats all Kahn has proved. Small mined loser is Kahn.

even if he indulged in pot from time to time it shouldn’t have stopped him from producing on the court.

Oh please, quit being Polly-Anna-ish, everyone knew beasley had issues with pot, he went to rehab last summer. Who cares Kahn acknowledges it.
