Early Fireworks

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS — All it took was one sentence from Dwyane Wade to stir up the fireworks for this 4th of July weekend long before the actual fireworks show was supposed to begin.

“Things are getting very interesting,” Wade said, after exiting his second meeting with the Chicago Bulls, his hometown team.

Of course, the Bulls have to meet with LeBron James today. And I’d imagine a commitment from James would change things for all involved.

But while we wait, there is now a growing sentiment that perhaps Wade, and maybe even Chris Bosh, could be the Bulls’ biggest targets in this free agent frenzy rather than James.

Again, everything could change this afternoon, after the Bulls meet with James, who also has a meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers on his schedule.

The Bulls clearly don’t intend to leave the summer without adding at least one of the marquee names joining Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah in the house Michael Jordan built.

For the longest time we were convinced here at the hideout that it would be James first and then maybe Joe Johnson or even young Rudy Gay if the first option didn’t work out. But with both Gay (who has agreed to terms with the Grizzlies) and Johnson (who has yet to agree to a maximum deal offered by the Hawks) seemingly out of the picture, things are indeed getting very interesting for all involved.

As Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel writes, the Bulls appear to have Wade’s ear (for now), but the Heat have his heart (or so they hope and pray):

Since the start of NBA  free agency, the Miami Heat expected Dwyane Wade to do what free agents do: talk.

Until Friday, there barely was a hint of what free agents also could do: walk.

With Wade meeting with the Chicago Bulls for the second time in as many days since the start of the free-agency period, concerns have grown somewhat elevated about the future of the All-Star guard who has called South Florida home for all seven of his NBA seasons.

Summoned for a second meeting by his hometown Bulls, Wade apparently finds himself part of a second plot to place three of the leading free agents in the same landing spot, similar to the Miami Thrice approach the Heat is hoping to work with Wade, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh.

The difference is the Bulls literally have all their ducks in order, with Friday’s meeting with Wade followed by a late-night presentation to Bosh in Chicago and then a Saturday presentation to James in Cleveland.

The Heat met Friday with James in Cleveland, after meeting Thursday with Bosh in Chicago.

While Friday’s meeting with the Bulls in the offices of Wade’s Chicago-based agent Henry Thomas heightened concern about Wade’s future, Heat President Pat Riley downplayed any doomsday scenario.

“We feel very strongly about our commitment to Dwyane and our fans,” Riley said.

Riley doesn’t sound like a worried man. But until this thing shakes out, folks in Chicago, Cleveland and Miami remain anxious about who will land in their cities.

Now that the news of Bosh heading and Wade staying in Miami is announced.

    The following can be assumed~

    1) The biggest loser in decision 2010 is NJ. NY at least got Amar’e.

    2) Even if LBJ goes to Miami, and that is a big IF, they still need a decent Center.
But with only minimum contracts left I doubt they can sign a center at the level of Haywood.
Thus, even if the triffid is made all three must be healthy ALL SEASON LONG.
Which is a harder task for the triffid then winning a Championship.

    3) Like “LAKESHOW” said the result of decision 2010 will eventually be result to 4 “good” teams, but no “great” team in the east.

    4) Chemistry-wise, with no disrespect to the Thunders, the Thunders will have better chemistry then the newly assembled Heats.

    5) Last but not least, if LA gets Haywood with out lossing the starting 5. They will threepeat.

  2. LAKESHOW says:

LOL… Told you WG… dream world.

Wade and Bosh are signing to Miami, check the news.

LBJ will not go to the Bulls, he will stay in Cleveland, and NEVER win a championship, joining the Charles Barkleys and John Stocktons.

The only thing the Bulls can hope for is picking up roll players, someone like Boozer, Miller, ect…and pray they can somehow swing Carmelo Anthony from the Nuggets next year… but that wont happen cause of the CBA… and Melo is expected to sign w/ Denver.

No one wants to try to live up to MJ, thats why no “big name” FA will sign in Chicago…

And your last comment, do I think Kobe is better then MJ, NO… No comparison… MJ is the greatest SG the NBA has, and will ever see, but I will argue against anyone if KB isn’t #2. That is coming from someone who is born and raised in LA, bleeds purple and gold. I give props where its due, and MJ is the greatest SG.

All in all… The east will now have 4 “good” teams, but no one “great” team.
Miami, Orlando, Boston, and wherever LBJ signs, which should be Cleveland.
Chicago will make an early exit in the playoffs AGAIN.

The team to beat…2 years running is the LAKERS… They hold the Championship…
The way things are looking right now, if the Lakers roster can get healthy and stay healthy, they will 3-peat, again.

  3. joneenee says:

@RobiH my response to your statement: “But nobody can compete to Bryant’s level.”

This goes to believers that Kobe was the best player in NBA today..

    watch this one:

I want this guys play face to face in the finals…

    -just being neutral.

  4. joneenee says:

I think Wade and Bosh is just waiting for LBJ to sign..

One thing for sure, WADE and LBJ will not be together..

and as I read the news about CLE this morning, LBJ was watery eyed after the CLE fans pitched for him.. plus the addition of Byron Scott as a coach, which gave LBJ another reason to stay.

I think if LBJ and Wade’s gonna stay, Bosh will be playing with Wade in MIA. And if Bosh will be playing with LBJ, Wade goes to CHI..
these players is just waiting on each others decision.. Which gave us a very interesting and very cloudy conclusion as of this moment.. I really cant say until the BIG NEWS comes up.. But I would like to see LBJ and Bosh (any team) together and Wade in Chicago.. This is a tough season for Lakers… Coz every decisions of these superstars will take will change the their NBA Championship Dynasty. Kobe’s 6th ring will be tough to achieve this season. Its like a reboot.

Amar’e has an interest going to NY, and these stars might be tempted to play with him and just as the news said NY and NJ has a lots of $$$$ which can sign 2 players at max deal.
Dont forget the other talents as well.. Like Lee,Boozer,Pierce etc..

let’s just sit back and wait.. peace!

    james to heat +wade +bosh = champ of 2011

    RobiH,

    WADE IS BETTER THAN KOBE

  7. Wade-County says:

All im gonna say is that Wade is staying, Bosh is going to Miami, and Lakers watch ouy nexy year.
    Starting lineup-

    C- Brendan Haywood
    PF- Chris Bosh
    SF- Matt Barnes
    SG- Dwyane Wade
    PG- Mario Chalmers

    Bulls- Noah Rose Boozer

  8. Luke Dzierzanowski says:

Lebron’s best option is to go to the NJ Nets. They have a strong supporting cast of good players, but not stars, which would assure he would get all of the attention and the advertisements. They also have the ability to add another free agent. In addition, their owner will globalize Lebron if he comes which means more money. In New Jersey he can win, get money, and be the only star.

  9. SYH says:

Oh and to Roy 7700 the new Cleveland Coach Byron Scott won 3 titles as a player with the Lakers & 2 Eastern Conference titles as a Coach with New Jersey Nets, and NJ has not been the same since either!

  10. SYH says:

    First thing..
    – Bynum vs. Noah – Both rising stars. Role Player. should break even.
    – Bosh vs. Gasol – Bosh with advantage of youth. Gasol with experience.
    – Deng vs. Artest – Deng, offensively. Artest, defensively.
    – Wade vs. Kobe – BREAK EVEN!!
    – Rose vs. Fish – Rose is the PG of today.

But these team can match the lakers if they can sign both.. and it will not happen
    ______________________________________________________________
I had to copy and paste the above comments, I’m scratching my head you are matching players ‘one on one’ as though they play streetball??? This is the NBA and it is all about ‘TEAM BALL’ the right combination of stats from each player, there has to be a rebound for a basket, a person has got to be willing to see the floor to a player who is open and in a better position to score a basket. I can go on but you get it!

I going to move past the NBA to the FIRST year that the US came in 3rd place in the preliminaries for the Olympics, it had these “superstar players’ Wade, James, Carmelo, Bosch… For the first time in Olympic History the U.S. DID NOT Finish first in Basketball(yes they have grown some from that, but there is still somemore growing to do). The only adjustments that was made the following year is they added KOBE BRYANT and Jason Kidd to the roster. Kobe IN THEIR OWN WORDS (I will share the video link of Road to Redemption by Nike) , taught them about discipline, and how to play team ball! They WON!!! Smart Basketball at it’s finest, I believe they will all get there, but they ARE NOT there yet! They will have to earn that best player title it should not be giving because of their potential.

  11. Wade-County says:

All im gonna say is that Dwyane Wade is staying and watch out lakers.
    Starting lineup-

    C- Brendan Haywood
    PF- Chris Bosh
    SF- Matt Barnes
    SG- Dwyane Wade
    PG- Mario Chalmers

and D-Wade is gonna nut on Chicago like he did on the buzzer beater lol

  12. SYH says:

I’m trying to follow the comments but I am lost in the confusion whoever posted about the Lakers three-peat most agreed. First it will take some time for ANY new team to gel. Meanwhile the Lakers young players are getting more experienced and stonger, and when they get the away game fright under raps they are going to be a team to be reckoned with. YES, Kobe is being groomed to be an MJ, remember he still has alot of years to play, ahead of him. He has become a smarter player learning how to share the ball and trust his team–a weaker team than the Chicago players you mentioned earlier (MJ’s old team)…but still getting it done with less talent, he gets my respect for that. The Key being when he needs to get it done for the W he does, other than that he trusted the team to deliver, and they have!

Lakers=2010 Champs= current team to beat, all other combinations…we will have to just wait and see! I agree It’s more that just the points on the board, it’s the passing game, rebounds, the defense (smart B-ball) If that was not the case the Carmelo, Iverson combination in Denver shoulda worked!!!

  13. dheckhael says:

WHICH TEAM DO YOU THINK WILL FAVOR THESE FREE AGENCY?
    WHICH COMBINATION DO YOU PREFER?
    WADE & BOSH,
    LEBRON & BOSH, or
    WADE & LEBRON
WHICH EVER IS WHICH, I THINK THE LAST PAIR WILL NOT BE A THING IN THE NBA.
FOR THE PLAYERS, PLAY FOR THE FANS NOT JUST FOR THE MONEY.

  14. sabrion says:

the bulls are already a playoff team with D. rose.
    D Rose + nobody = 2nd round playoffs
    D Rose + LBJ = conference finals
    D Rose + LBJ + D Wade = championship
    D Rose + LBJ + D Wade + carlos boozer or Chris Bosh = 5 peat

    OR
    D Rose +LBJ + Chris Bosh + Ray Allen = 3 peat

  15. RobiH says:

WG.. Your an idiot. Kobe is the best playing in the NBA today. Kobe or any other player will ever be as great as Jordan was. But comparing Wade to Kobe is a waste of time. Don’t get me wrong, Wade is an excellent player, full of heart and determination. But nobody can compete to Bryant’s level.

Bosh v.s Gasol – It’s a toss up, both can shoot, drive to the net, and play defense
Artest – Probably the best defender in the league. Anyone from the Bulls put up against Artest, and he will stop them.
Kobe- Will get around, shoot over, or make who ever is guarding him to commit a foul.
Fisher – He will make Rose work for every pass, shot or lay-up to the last second

    Los Angeles Lakers will 3peat!!

  16. Justin says:

When Wade said there is more to his decison then just money……..I hope he was talking about his kids! They live in Chicago! Just bring the trifecta to Chicago and sit back and watch the excitment! Let’s go Bulls!

Blow the Lakers away? LMFAO…. Now that was funny.
The Bulls aint sh*t now, and have not been close to a ring since Jordan left.
By adding 2 all-stars you think the bulls are just going to magically mesh and be unstoppable and conquer the east?
    You forget… The Big 3 in Boston… Orlando…. where ever LBJ signs…

Just to set the record straight… because ANYONE who follows basketball would most likely agree with what I am about to say….

C- A Bynum WILL SH*T on Noah, no comparison
PF- P Gasol / Bosh, pretty much even, I would give the edge to Gasol..
SF- R Artest WILL LOCK DOWN DENG…rendering him en-effective
    SG- K Bryant… need I say more?
PG – Fisher/Blake would be the only “weak” link vs D Rose, if you were to call it that.

So by that comparison, I can hardly see the LAKERS being blown out.

  19. SO says:

Honestly i think that Wade is just showing interest in the Chicago Bulls due to the fact that it is is hometown and he wants to have some sympathy towards the town. HE is just playing games with the team and i guarantee the heat have nothing to worry about because Bosh is going to go to Miami and with those 2 and you add a Mario Chalmers you have a decent scoring team they maybe need a bigger center and a small forward

    Center: Amare Stoudomire ?
    PF: Chris Bosh

    P: Mario Chalmers

What r u guys smoking? I’m a Lakers and Bulls fan but be realistic if the Bulls get Wade,James and Bosh or any of the two yes they will win it all. Ok if you haven’t figured it out I’m talking to you mostly Lakeshow.Kobe is the best player in the league but don’t be so quick to rule out wade when matched against each other. When comparing please remember Wade can’t stop Kobe but Kobe can’t stop wade either and if you think different i suggest you watch when they are defending each other head up not to mention I was at a game in chicago when Kobe decided to stick d rose and rose blew right by him.I love Kobe but we’re not talking about micheal jordan here.

  27. BA says:

    1) Rose and Noah are already injury prone; Rose has a balky knee and Noah has plantar facitis; 2) MIA has chalmers and Beasley, Beasley is young and immature, but has some promise. Riley is not going to trade Wade, and allow him to take the MAX, and he sure as hell doesn’t want Luol Deng and Taj Gibson. Rose is a great player, but he shoots and controls the ball just as much as Wade and Lebron… CHEMISTRY would not be there, because Rose would be taking half the shots he takes, Noah would not get any shots, and Wade and Bosh would take the majority of shots… Therefore, going to MIA, would allow Bosh and Wade plus a few midlevel guys to compete…

  28. raptorssuck says:

all those people who think james, bosh, and wade will land on the same team QUIT DREAMING! it aint gonna happen wade stays in miamai james goes to chicago or cleveland and bosh joins james in chaicgo or bosh gets traded to the lakers in a sign and trade or even traded to the bulls. they cant ened up on the heat because bc will not want to see bosh leave for nothing!

  32. eric says:

I agree with the starting 5 noah deng bosh wade n rose.
n here is y your wrong lakeshow. rose can blow by blake n fisher n when he does that someone needs to step up to stop roses dribble. so when they do that rose kicks it out n u have a wide open man. if they dont step up rose is unstoppable on the run. he either gets fouled n goes to the line or he makes a layup. n once u start the drive n kick the defense will not be able to handle that because when u have a defender running full speed to contest a 3 pt shot the offensive player would just pump fake n drive in.

  33. Chris says:

The Bulls can’t afford Bosh/Wade and keep everyone else unless Wade and Bosh are willing to take less. As it is the Bull need to trade Deng if those guys both want Max. Its a great starting line-up to be sure, but there is no bench, you have no cap room left and will have to wait another year before you are true competitors.

At least with the Knicks they can do something similar, still have Curry’s expiring, and 4 million to spare. I say Bosh and James to NY =better team as it has more flexibility.

  34. Raps4eva says:

All along I thought Bosh to Miami to join Wade. With the issues surrounding Wade’s children & the ex based in Chicago, he may decide to go to Chicago, at which point Bosh will join him. LBJ stays in Cleveland. Just my take.

    -Bosh and LBJ in Miami

Wade and LBJ will not be together..

It now depends on the $$$$$ in the table for these guys… Its either Miami or Chicago!

  38. SYH says:

Wade is considering Chicago not just for the game but his personal life.. his ex-wife just moved back there and even though he was awarded custody of his young kids in the last few months, the youngest is under 3 years old and he maybe thinking of the best interest of them is being close to Siouvaughn–that is the Bulls selling point, besides they have a better Roster than Miami and having a high salary cap. Mark my words, he is not meeting with Chicago twice for intrigue, I believe he is strongly considering it, and will not be suprise if at the end of the day he ends of there! Besides Bulls Management knows a little better than Miami how to put a team/coach together to capture a ring and the ultimate goal of any NBA player in NBA Championship. I think this will be a very good one. But the Lakers is still my winning combination for 2011. Nothing like Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Fisher & the growing more & more experienced younger players.

  42. DMAC says:

Doesn’t anybody remember the Lakers signing Shaq, Kobe, Carl Malone and Gary Payton. That four couldn’t get it done, what makes you guys think that a team of Lebron, Wade and Bosh could make it work together. I just don’t see the three of them on one team. It works with the Celtics because Garnett is defensively focussed.

BTW, Bosh smokes Gasol anytime they are on the same floor. Gasol has game, but Chris is smoother and quicker to the spot.

Finally, the most underratted center in the league right now is Kendrick Perkins. He handled Shaq in Cleveland, Howard in Orlando and until the 7th game when he sat out with a knee injury had Bynum, also injured at the time, to modest effectiveness.

Colalngelo should ship Turk to anybody, anywhere. Talking about lunch bag, letdown.

  43. Joel says:

If D Wade leaves Mia, i will lose all my respect for him,

    • sandwich says:

Why? Miami put up a fire sale and now have no backup plan if they don’t get their big three. Even if they do land those guys, they have no supporting cast to complete their roster. Wade has been killing himself for years and suffering from back problems from playing such heavy minutes. He’s had no one to take the pressure off of him and the organization has taken that effort for granted.

  44. NicofromBelgium says:

I think like many others, that chicago would be the big winner of this summer, wade will go to chicago coz there’s no place like home to him, and bosh more than james will be a bulls, wade don’t wanna be the other guy next to someone like james, bosh will help under the basket and wade will be the MAN next to rose… oh yeah WG, i see it too

  49. Ty says:

LeBron Should Go 2 Da Nets: : Crazy Starting Line Up

    5-Brook Lopez
    4- Derrick Favors
    3- LeBron James
    2- Cortney Lee
    1- Devin Harris

    • Johnwe says:

Derrick Favors isn’t proven and Courtney Lee isn’t that crazy. Remember they are both in the most competitive spots in the NBA, 4 and 2

  50. jasiano says:

it’s all getting very interesting for Bulls, Cavs & Heat fans eh?
All this speculation is no doubt going to raise expectations & excitement levels (especially for Bulls fans) but until July 8th it’s not worth getting too worked up.
Having said that, is it just me, or does Bosh + Wade going to Chicago seem like an infinitely better move than trying to get Lebron to Chicago?

  51. Terrence says:

I am excited, same time not convinced that wade really wants to come to chicago, ya he has been to two meetings with them but i think that has alot to do with trying to scare miami into really doing something this freeagency… however the bulls do have more to offer to any of the top free agents, to most of those teams in persuit of Labron, wade, bosh or boozer… we already have a good young cast playoff battle ready we just need a boost to get to the top, with any of those free agents or two the bulls will not only be able to compete but perhaps even win the weak east, maybe be the front runner to defeat Lakers. I guess we will all have to wait and see.

  52. gg says:

@ WG, replace deng with lebron and you have a championship winning team right there.
    C – Noah
    PF – Bosh
    SF – Lebron
    SG – Wade
    PG – Rose

I can see the chemistry vividly.

  53. Chris says:

July 8th is not a deadline. It is the first day free agents can sign their contracts..

  54. At this point things are getting pretty interesting. If James, Wade, and Bosh are all talking to each other behind the scenes which is very likely it is more than interesting, it is serious. The three make a perfect combination to add to the Bulls along with a defensive minded head coach that knows how to plan and execute a defensive game plan which wins games. Everybody would be starting fresh, clean with a new slate. The team chemistry would be excellenct. JoKim Noah is a person that can swallow his pride in a heart beat and make a 180 degree turn. He would have no problems welcoming James and the others in a heart beat. Derrick Rose is too young to have an ego with the caliber of players the three (James, Wade, and Bosh) would bring. The new coach of the Bulls has had experience dealing with star players. So, that piece won’t be a critical problem in the equation. It remains to be seen if Tom. T. as the Bulls leader on the bench can manage the players and coach them at the same time. For the free agency situation as it stands now, “It’s game time.”

  55. Duddy says:

roy7700, WTF is wrong with you? Riley would NEVER agree on a sign and trade for Wade, to help the Bull get 3 mega stars, after promising starting a dinasty for the Heat. Besides, who would want Deng and Gibson to fill about 20mi of cap? Be real!

  56. jw says:

i could see the chemistry to but noah would be playing power forward

  57. 2D says:

Talk in here in Toronto is that Turkglu wants out so Coangelo is trying to do a double deal with both bosh and him…

  58. New york Kickcs fans are the greatest fans in the World. Madison Square Garden is the Temple for Basket Ball, the Meca. With Stoudemire ,Joe Jonhson,Gallinari,Chandler and Tracy McGrady, and may be an other great Veteran ,New York Fans would be happy. We have a grear coach and a great organization. We wish good luck to Lebron,Wade,Bosh.Boozer .Let each of them fight for a spotlight. This is our team for 2010-2011 until the deadline next february, when we will complete the team and with those five we will already win almost thirty five games to ensure us a high place in the playoff pool. We are in the right direction. We need to be patient.

  59. sandwich says:

roy7700 .. what are you talking about? The Nets won 12 games last year with that wonderful core of players you mentioned. I think that’s plenty of reason for FA players not to go there. Brook Lopez is the brightest start on that team, but that’s all they’ve got going for them. James should stay in Cleveland, and probably will. Wade should go to Chicago along with Bosh and actually have a solid lineup, just as WG has listed. It doesn’t matter if Lopez has a better offensive game than Noah. Rose, Wade, Bosh, and Deng are more than enough to put points on the board. Noah is a good defender and a tough rebounder. If DWade doesn’t go to Chicago, I don’t know where he’ll end up. I can’t see anyone going to Miami. They have no roster right now. To win a championship, you need a dependable bench to give you quality minutes. Both Boston and LA showed that the past few years. Chalmers, Wade, Beasley, Bosh, and ??? is not all that impressive of a lineup. If any of these guys go to the Knicks, it will be only for the money, and have nothing to do with Basketball. The Knicks are not a good team. Amare seems to be chasing dollar signs. He’s a good player, but his production will drop noticeably without Steve Nash that beautiful pick n’ pop game the two of them play together. I think, as a whole, one of the worst things about all this free agent frenzy is that the East has become so weak over the past couple years. Those teams who come up empty handed this offseason, will take some time to rebuild and wait for future FA, such as Melo.

  60. mark says:

wade stays with the heat…bosh goes with him…this is my take

  61. C4 says:

    Noah,
    Bosh
    Deng
    Wade
    Rose

I been hopin 4 this for a while.

  62. yummyfood says:

none of this is gonna happen because the knicks are getting LBJ and D-Wade so forget about it everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  63. WG says:

Now theres a Championship starting five that will blow the Lakers away

    C – J.Noah
    PF – C.Bosh
    SF – L.Deng
    SG – D.Wade
    PG – D.Rose

I can see the chemistry already.

    • LAKESHOW says:

      WG, are you kidding me?

You are living in a dream buddy… come the 7th, it will be time to wake up!

      • Captaink says:

So you think in that example that Kobe will run over D Wade?! What are YOU smoking?! Ron Artest will need advice from his Psycho therapist just to get through the game. You will need more than Fish and Baker together to guard D Rose and Andrew Bynum won’t be in the game long enough to take Noah off the boards. And don’t give Gasol that much credit, Bosh is more than a handful for him. You have to be realistic dude. D Wade or D Rose can take over a game anytime they want.
Kobe is good but he can’t try and stop D Rose or D Wade and still try and score at will on the other end. He will be too tired, then who do you have that can step up and take on the scoring? Hmmm!

    • ajmatlo says:

      now i like that lineup

    • berkamore says:

That 5 would be scary. And to think the Bulls now have a really good coach in Thibodeaux. Who would want to play those guys?

    • tazman25 says:

      i agree wit that

      C-J.Noah
      PF-C.Bosh
      SF-L.Deng
      SG-D.Wade
PG-D.Rose =CHAMPIONSHIPS, n i do mean A LOT. look at how young the team is! i can defo live wit this,

      C-J.Noah
      PF-C.Bosh
      SF-L.James
      SG-D.Wade
PG-D.Rose =REST OF YALL QUIT UR DAY JOB, FIND A NEW CAREER. FLAT OUT

      • raptorssuck says:

impossible bryan colangel[raptors gm] will not give chris for nothing so if bc packages bosh to chicago in a sign and trade scenario then i beleive pooibly luol deng will have to be traded to the raptors but if what you think will happen happens then those chicago bulls will be a championship team no doubt!

      • zen says:

i do not think that this lineup will be very effective, because in order for an offense to work on the NBA level you need shooters to space the floor so that your paint and driving players can operate and play towards the basket. now rose, wade, james and deng, good though they may be (a massive understatement of course), are not shooters. neither are noah and bosh (teams like utah and dallas MAY conceivably play successfully without shooting point and wing players because their bigs are ‘stretch bigs’ who can play on the perimeter). this means that the paint and driving lanes will be constricted as games go on and as coaches and defensive lineups make adjustments. so no, i do not think that these lineups can be effective, at least on the offensive end.

      • Johnwe says:

The two fantasy team you posted both looks very appealing. However, both lacks height.
If you look at the history of the NBA, most if not all, teams that won titles had (a) dominating BIG(s).

Noah is listed 6-11 (But looks more like a 6-10, compare with shaq) and Bosh is listed and looks like a 6-10.
The tallest player in the Bulls will be Brad Miller, who is a true 7-0. (If that is he is not traded)

Which this in mind how will the bulls go against the true BIGs of the east and west

Kevin Garnett though listed as 6-11 is well known as a 7-0.
Dwight Howard listed as 6-11 but has the physique that can only be match with shaq.
And of course the triffid from the west Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum (both true 7-0) and Lamar Odom (listed 6-10 but is probably 6-11)

Unless the bulls builds the second fantasy team (with LBJ) it would be hard to match up with those BIGs when they are healthy and motivated.
That is if they can pull out any on the fantasy teams mentioned above.

    • heatfan says:

wade stays in miami we bring in bosh and then we go for all the role players in free agentyz or get lebron

    • vlad says:

J-Noah couldn’t stop Poppa Shaq in the playoffs. And Shaq is way slower then he used to be. Do you really think he could stop a healthy Bynum?
Bosh is a good power forward, but check out the level of intensity that Pau brings to the game. Garnett plays a lot better than Bosh, and even him couldn’t stop Pau on a regular basis.
      L. Deng doesn’t stand a chance against Ron-Ron. We are talking of a guy that stopped P. Pierce (a better, more experienced, and more aggresive SF )
Wade is a great player, younger and faster then Kobe. But Lakers don’t need 30 points from Bryant each night to get the win. Thay are a better team and the missmatches in the low post will determine the game. Th lakers can survive a 45 points night from Wade.
      Rose is better then Fish.

These Bulls will have no chemistry and no bigs and no show stoppers. They would have to relay on both Wade and Rose. The problem is they both need the ball.
No way they could stop the Celts..and u are talking about wining it all.
I’m sorry to say but u don’t have the smallest clue abot this game/

  64. roy7700 says:

So to prove my point avery johnson orchestated a championship run in dallas with a team notorious for not playing defense. For nj to get their trifecta bosh would have to sign and trade to nj for derick favors, courtney lee, tony battie and 2 future draft picks. lebron and wade can sign as free agents, (although joe johnson fits better).

  65. roy7700 says:

i still think that lebron and bosh should go to nj because they have coach who won a championship as a player and coach a team to the championship in avery johnson, dallas has yet to return remotely close to that since. also brook lopez is more offensively polished then noah. i wouldn’t think twice about it why would the free agents?????

  66. roy7700 says:

If da bulls try to do the impossible and get a trifecta, miami would have to agree on a sign and trade for wade. it would probably involve deng gibson and a draft pick to miami, unless colangelo on toronto wants to do the same for bosh. Its interesting but someone has to bend for this to happen.

  67. tracshortie says:

Wade stays in Miami, Lebron stays in Cleveland and Bosh is the only free agent up for grabs as July 8th deadline approaches!
